pimples and shampoo

Sup guys, just wanted to ask question about pimples and shampoo. What do you guys think about shampoo giving some people break-outs? My friends tell me that some people get break-outs because of the chemicals from some shampoos. I think that when i wash the shampoo from my hair, and let it fall to my face, i think it dries up my face a lot and i start to get little white pimples because the oil and bacteria from my hair drips and gets into my pores. HELP! Please give me your opinons!

No, it isn't doing that. What's happening is "puberty". If you'd like to see for yourself, wash your hair in your sink for a week - so it won't drip in your face - and see if your face automatically clears up. I searched high and low on google and numerous acne websites to see if shampoo could cause acne and came to the conclusion that it can't. Your friend is wrong.

Your friend was right in one sense, the chemicals in most off the shelf shampoos are no good.

But that said, I don't see people dropping dead in the shower from it.

The only way shampoo could play any part is in the overdrying effect of the skin, which is known to irritate and not help with acne, but even that's drawing a long bow.

During the day
It is important to prevent irritation throughout the day, and at night for that matter. I don't touch my face much during the day. The following is a list of potential sources of irritation.
# resting your chin in your hands
# picking at your face!
# smooshing your face in your pillow at night
# using hair products that can get on the skin
# sun exposure - be aware when driving
# cell phone pressed against face

Obviously you don't want to touch your face and get bacteria on it, so you definitely don't want the crap from your hair getting on there. So when youre in the shower dont let the water run off your head, and when youre washing your hair, rinse off backwards, meaning face away and let it run off the back of your head... its not hard to keep it off yoru face

By "hair products" they refer to hair spray, gel, etc... not shampoo, which is washed off in seconds. The hair spray can coat your face for hours at a time causing breakouts.
