Ok, so I've invested about $800 in my sound system thus far. I have Pioneer subs, Almani 900watt amp, custom ported box, adn an Alpine head unit.

pics here

I drive a 1996 Jetta. I'm trying to trick the car out in the interior, and eventually move on to shaved door handles and engine stuff.

I need in-dash DVD next.... basic requirements are DVD movies, CDs, video game hookups, and not crappy controls.

I was looking at a Panasonic one (VD7500U) comes with TV tuner, remote, surround sound, awesome resolution. Should I let it be wired to where I cant watch movies when im driving? Or should I have it re-wired so I can watch it while driving? Good idea so my girlfriend can watch a movie or TV while I drive? It would be great to watch NFL while my dad's driving or something.

Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions? Additional mods?

Honestly man, save car modding for after college when you got a real job if it's your passion. Once you hit college, no one will give a sh*t if you even have a car. Plus in Southern California, you're not going to get too many looks driving a modded Jetta, unless it's pimped with 20,000+ dollars into it.

The sound system was a cool idea. If you have to drive, bump some tunes while doing it. But IMO, anything else is just blowing your money on something that's not going to significantly enhance anything but your ego.

Unless your really rich. Screw that.

Waste your money on alcohol. Not car parts.

woah thats alot of miles on the car.
personally i would'nt even touch it in terms of serious mods without making sure the engine could even handle it.
is it s 5-6 speed?
there are still alot of things to make the car fast, if you have the
money. may not be the fastest thing on wheels but
with a little cash i'd bet that lil Jetta could get into the
14's-which is decent. you can have a pretty "quick" car or
one that blows the doors off it's hinges of the car next to you
during traffic..it's really up to you :D

Personally if i had cash id hook up some kind of computer system with a screen and a harddrive so i can lsiten to mp3's.

I dont need to watch movies or play games in my ride but i do hate carrying around a case of cd's that always get scratched or lost or broken so having something computerized in my ride would be straight pimp.

Why not an iPod plug-in or a cd player that can play MP3 CDs?
