Hey guys, lately I've been interested in Pilates. I was wondering if anyone is experienced with the Pilates method on this forum. I'm specifically interested in adding it to my basketball training. Since I'm not going to be paying for a trainer, I was wondering if anybody could recommend good books, websites, etc to start with.

Unfortunately you're going to get the ignorance which runs rampant around here spouting dumb sh!t like: "Aw homie, pilates is for 'ho's."

I can't do pilates because I'm a fat prick. But I do yoga.

i am going to tell you a secret... pilates kicked my azz.
and i am a healthy 100 lb woman.

start with beginners yoga, and work your way up to pilates.
you may find , as i did, that yoga is good enough.

Yea, I know what you're talking about. A ton of NBA players and many other athletes are doing it, so hopefully that will shut up the people who say stuff like that.

hehe, that's what I like to hear actually! I'm looking for something that will hopefully be more challenging than the stuff that I do now. How did you start? Did you have a trainer?
