This must be an OK Cupid thing, but I had come across a woman that got my attention because she said she in her profile was going to the same concert event that I was.
Turns out she said she's engaged (even shows her fiance' in some of her pics) but is using the site to make friends. She's not polyamorous, nor looking for a three-some or something on the side, but is legitimately looking to make friends.
I asked her about this, and in fact, she's actually made non-romantic friends this way. I suggested trying Meetup.com, but she said where she lives...they tend to dry up or she doesn't really "gel" (same mind-set) of the group.
I dunno, isn't there just something a little off about people who use dating sites to make just friends, isn't there? As if they've exhausted all options of meeting people the traditional way?
Personally, I think there's something rather beta about her fiance' even letting he do this.
