Hey wassup guys. I've had Pectus Carinatum since i can remember,(at about 10 years of age). Incase you don't know, its when like one of my chest bones is has a deformaty, causing my chest to push out. My chest is sometimes called a pigeon-chest. It causes me pain every once in a while, but very painfull, in the morning. I am wanting to get surgery done, but i dont know how much it cost, what they going to do, what are long term affects, etc. Just wondering if you guys know how much its going to cost, and when they DO open me, just wondering if my cuts are going to stay with me for the rest of my life. HELP!!

THANKS!

Virtually no one on here is going to know what this is.

I was born with Pectus Excavatum which is the opposite. The chest is sunken.

I had surgery at Johns Hopkins hospital to correct it.

I recommend surgery if for no other reason the psychological trauma of the deformity.

MOST IMPORTANT: Asked the surgeon "how many of these procedures do you do per year"

Some of the big teaching hospitals will do a lot. Don't go to any hospital that only does say one procedure per year. I think UCLA medical center does a lot.
There's a surgeon in the southeast you might want to check with.
Dr Nuss. Do a google search for Dr Nuss and Pectus to get more info on him.

Good luck

ok cool, ill check on that. I have question. When they opened you and then closed your incision, did that scar dissapear? or atleast faded to a very thin line which is very unnoticable? i dont want to be at the beach with a big scar. I have never had surgery in my life except this one time.

THANKS!

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

My surgeon got additional training from plastic surgeons. My scar is barely noticable. Not everyone heals the same, so their are no gaurantees.
With todays techniques it should look pretty good. If you get chest hair you might never see anything

how much did your surgery cost?

A lot, insurance paid for it, although times have changed

It was done around 1990 and the cost then was probably over $20,000.00 but I really can't remember.

You need a consultation with a specialist. Their might be some non-surgical options as well.
