do isolation workouts.

for example, for upper chest do incline bench presses, incline flies
for lower chest do decline bench presses, decline flies
for inner chest do close grip bench presses
for outer chest do wide grip bench presses.

OK there is no such thing as your inner, outer or upper, lower pecs. you need to develop the muscle's size overall. you will not be able to influence shape.

when a muscle contracts, it contracts. it cannot contract in sections. it does not work that way.

pressing movements and dips are great. i'm not a big fan of flyes but tossing them in now and then is ok.

i suggest 1-2 heavy pressing movements with dumbbells or barbells and then add in something like dips or flyes

when performed correctly close-grip bench is used to work the tri's.

wide grip bench incorporates the chest much more, but often is stressful on the shoulders and many people have shoulder problems if they do them too much.

Also - if you want to pack on mass heavy compund movements with freeweights is without a doubt the way do go. Keep your focus here and you will make gains, not isolation exercises.

This is true but you can still place more stress on one section of muscle more than another depending on the exercise. Incline bench presses do work the upper pecs more than the lower and decline works the lower pecs more than the upper. Its a well known training strategy.
