Hi,

I got this question about the pecs
I have been working them out with basic exercises like pushups with weight on my butt to increase the stuff so after 8 I'm done. I do 4 sets of each time 8. I also lay on my back and 'push' UP heavy weight objects, so that works my pecks too.
And I do see an increase in mass by now. But I can't get the result I want. I want that line in between both pecs, that looks so cool lol. I have been reading up to see what muscles I have to target, but apparently I keep misreading stuff.

Any advice here ? I'm not fat either, I can barely grab any skin in that area of my body, so it's not like the fat is hiding that line. In fact all there is in that place is skin with bone directly under it ! How do you get that line there then ?

Thanks !

You're really gonna need to try to get a membership to a gym.

In order to get the kind of gains you're looking for, it's really really hard to do it purely with "homemade" gym ideas. You need a bench, some DB's, bars, and weights. Simple as that.

I'll buy a bench then, no time to drive to the gym and back 3 times a week.

What bench would you advise me to buy ?

an entire bench set requires a hell of a lot of cash, (esp. if you dont want a crappy one) but if youve got it than get the olympic barbell, the thick bar will do nicely.

in order to obtain a nice gain in the pectorial area. you need to attack your pecs from several different areas. weighted push ups will get you some gains but simply wont do the trick.

flat bench press- 4-6 sets x 6-8 reps (1 warm up set)
incline press- 3 sets x 6-8 reps
decline press- 2-3 sets x 4-6 reps

remeber when benching choose a weight that u can lift but not past 8 reps. when on your last rep you should be near failure.

(benching techniques vary w/ what you are trying to do i.e sports, cutting, bulking etc.)

The only way you can get "the line", is by increasing your over all chest mass. Now by increasing your chest mass, you'd have to increase your body weight which in turn would take a workout program, a diet program, dedication and perserverence (sp?).

It doesn't come overnight :)

Wide pushups target the chest a little better. Close hand pushups target tricepts. But you're not going to make a lot of gains without a benchpress.

i got a good bench from wal-mart for $90, it has a bunch of useless attachments too, very sturdy and modern looking also. you will need to buy some weights too; regular bar, two barbell bars, and 100lbs for about $30 at ****'s. wal-mart has extra weights for 50 cents a pound. Also you should do butterfly on the bench to increas chest.

You're gonna need more than that... and only 2 bars at most. reg bar, and ez curl bar.
