Pain in upper arm after fighting

I was in a fight last week, and the guy caught my punch and held my right arm with both of his hands. There was no punches to the arm, just holding of the arm to his chest, and me struggling around..

Almost 5 days later now I still have pain.. It is same pain you get after pumping dum bell curls. It's on the top of my bicep, as I bring my arm into a curl, I can feel it, and also I can feel it when I touch the top of my bicep.. Then there is pain if I'm doing punches, like slow punches for practice, that bicep pain and pain in elbow and shoulder joints.. It's got slightly better, unlike the pain I had in the back of my head and back, which went away..

I'm wondering if this will go away slowly or I should see a doc?

P.S. Now that I read crag maga combat manual, I feel sort of dumb for not being able to bring the guy down.. Who was both smaller than me and had a lot of exposed points on his body, with my left arm free, and both feet free.. Sh!t.. Guys. Learn to fight, it doesn't matter how big you are.. The other guy might be drunk and think he's bigger.

It's possible, guy told me you don't know who you messing with. Perhaps he had some training. He got my arm and tried to throw me down, but couldn't.

Basically he grabbed my right arm, and then left arm. He just hold my right arm to his chest as I struggled around, trying to chocke him with my left hand, instead of:

a) punching into his eyes
b) punching into the under nose
c) punching into the nose
d) punching into the temple
e) punching into the throat
f) punching into carotid artery
g) punching into back of ear and base of skull
h) punching forehead
i) kicking him inside of hights
j) kicking him into the groin
k) punching him into nipple
l) punching him into front of houlder muscle
m) punching him with a knee into diaphragm
n) punching him with a knee into adbomen bellow navel
o) stumping him into instep
p) punching him with a knee into his knee
r) punching him with my foot into his shin

It's freaking rediculous.. I even threw my helmet down.. My helmet with a very bright light on it.. I didn't use lock on my bike as a weapon.. I'm so AFC at fighting, holly sh!t...

I don't think the guy threw me into any kind of lock, just an amateur sh!t vs no knowledge big guy..

You know how you would hold something to your chest? That's how he held my arm.. No nothing while wolding, I just couldn't do sh!t because I didn't know what to do..

I chocke him a lot but it didn't do anything.. Instead of thinking what I can do, I was panicing.. You know how it feels after the fact, especially after you rear some material on what can be done, such as pressure points and nerves.. I had so many opportunities to inflict serious damage, but instead I gave up.. It feels so sh!tty like I can not describe you.

If you had a bike, why not just peddle away really fast? - Beats a lawsuit!

Anyways, you might wanna see a doctor. I tore one of the ligaments in my arm several years ago, and it sounds kinda' like the same pain that you are describing.

I'd hold off on working out atleast a few days and see what happens-- you might just make it worse. Because of my ignorance, I ignored my injury for a week and actually had to have surgery in order to correct it.

P.S. Good choice on your study of 'Krav Mega'. But you really need a qualified instructor, or atleast a good training partner... don't just read manuals.

Fighting is gruelling and spontaneous, strange pains are normal.

Checking it out with a doctor might not be a bad idea you probably didn't feel it right away because of the adrenaline. Unfortunately finding a Krav Maga certified instructor isn't too easy there aren't many in the United States unless you live in a major city.

Go to any decent sized police department/academy within the U.S. and you will find a training officer. You will have to dish out some cash for one-on-one training, but it is well worth it if you can find someone who knows what they are talking about.

Military bases are another option. Find a qualified special forces soldier who is willing to trade his time for some cold, hard, tax-free cash. This is the method that I have used for most of my training.

If you live in the middle of nowhere, buy a gun-- odds are that eveyone around you is already carrying high-powered rifles. This is the most feasible method of self-defence in most cases, anyway. ;)

P.S. See also books by Colonel Rex Applegate. The man was a legend.

If it's not around the elbow joint and not around the shoulder joint then its likely just a bicep strain. They aren't common but in an unscheduled fight(no warmup/stretching), anything can happen because most of your muscles are still cold and tight, especially your arms if you were biking since most of the blood will be in your legs.

Give it a week or two without stressing it and it should heal noticably.

Thinking outside the box can be fun!

How the HELL did you go about finding any Spec Forces?

Ask around within the military community. Someone will know someone. Besides, these guys are human beings. Sometimes they are discharged for any number of reasons, and they are always looking for a little extra cash when they turn civilian.

I won't lie to you... they aren't easy to find (I've only managed to find one). And their knowledge doesn't come cheap, either. But if you are serious-- deadly serious-- it is the best option short of earning your way into the special forces via the military machine.

If you can't find anyone, lower your standards a bit. I've trained with drill sergeants who were just as capable as anyone else.

Also keep in mind, this advice is not for beginners. Save your money, shape up, learn what you can where you can... the rest will come later on.
