Older Man, Small City Dating

Six years ago I moved from a large city to a smaller midwestern city near where I was raised. I moved for a great job opportunity, knowing that I would be sacrificing some in the dating world. I did not know the extent of the sacrifice until after a few years living here. It's an ultra-conservative city where most of the women (and a lot of the men) are in a mad rush to get married immediately after school. The rest of the dateable women lurch from relationship to relationship with about eight minutes between each as they believe being single is shameful.

The few single women available are for the most part obese and/or foul-mouthed, tatted-up gutter trash. Even these 2s and 3s are on a pedestal as there are more than enough men desperate enough to chase them. The nearest city of any size is three hours away and the women there tend to look down on men from my area. I've gone out with some of them but they tend to poof, perhaps after their friends say "You're seeing someone from WHERE?".

My career, on the other hand, is going quite well. My job is better than any I had in larger cities and I have opportunities for advancement (unfortunately transferring in the immediate future is not an option). However the bleak dating prospects have me considering looking elsewhere, even if the job isn't as good. Have any of you been in this situation? Did you stick it out and keep trying to improve your social situation or sacrifice some of your career and make a beeline for a larger city?

I have a job to get p*ssy, and for no other reason. So, personally, no career opportunity short of being named Emperor of the World would get me to move to a "small midwestern city."

Have been in a similar situation for years but plan to move to a larger, affluent area by the end of the year.

My advise is to move if your situation is one that is causing misery.

I would add though that big cities are not all they are cracked up to be. I;d say that a smaller (not small) city is preferable.

The trouble is with big cities, is that women are MORE on their guard due to the anonimity factor. If any of you know England, then i would make a comparison that London, although massive, has more girld with a stinking attitude, but Brighton, although a tenth of the size, has a friendlier more relaxed feel to it.

Choose your location carefully. For you American guys, I huess its worth doing a poll to see which is the city for easiedt tail chasing? ;)

Get a vasectomy, a mail order bride, and boot her out before she's legal :)

Seriously, move to a bigger city.
Take the small town gig if you couple up and she's into it.

I'm due to receive a sizable bonus in several months and then I will shift into high gear to get out. I had a blast when I lived in a large city but observed many of the same attitudes you noted. Mid-sized cities have been on my radar and I will try to be in one by year's end.

Are any larger cities within your traveling distance? My city is the largest in my state but is pale in comparison to some of the largest cities out there. The good thing is that its less than 3 hours to Dallas if pickings ever get too slim here. You may have to import a chick frim a larger city.
