lets hear some of your old A.F.C horror stories

what where some things you did as an "afc" that you wouldnt do today even if your life depended on it. i have a few that i do to this day. in a way you humiliate yourself by being an "afc"


heres a few of mine. try to top em guys!!

1.on my day off i would drop of her mom off at work and take her son to school, then pick them up from work school later in the day
2. i would do everything for her
3. i would not go anywhere withouth her son.

Just a couple of hours ago at the gym, I looked over at a girl, she saw & met my eyes & I immediately glanced away as if I was looking at the TV - damnit, need to curb those reactions.

Previous afc? Being an emotional tampon on many occasions, listening to endless nattering about their problems.

Least afc but got me in trouble: didn't get her a card or flowers on Vals Day (but brought her for dinner). Apparently she cried for days over this one (I just believe its a stupid Hallmark holiday, and preferred to spend the $$ on dinner & wine).

oh my god i almost forgot the ultimate "staple" behavior for an afc is BEING AN EMOTIONAL TAMPON! thats how afc's fall into such traps

Its easy for the less experienced to come to the conclusion that being close to a lady in some ways will bring one closer to a lady in others.

I think it is important that we never forget where we came from...just thinking about AFC is painful, but I'm glad I overcame...for me, yeah the worst parts were

emotional tampon, and calling them everyday. I remember my mind would go crazy if I left a message and she wouldn't return it within 2 minutes. Basically not being a MAN!

Emotional tampon definitely my old number 1 afc problem. Then when girls said, "your such a good friend", I would get excited like it was going somewhere, then I would get pissed off and depressed when it didn't work out. Man was I stupid. Now when I hear your a good friend, I say "I'm not your friend" and NEXT!!!

Yeah, the 'glancing away' problemw hen meeting eyes with a girl i find is an automatic reflex. I just gotta keep practicin with it.

Anyways...

1. Emotional Tampon
2. Calling them on the phone.. TO TALK!
3. Put them on pedestal
4. Thought about them as I fell asleep

Imn woindering, did anybody else think this when they were afc:
"Man, why do girls keep dumping me? If they gave me a chance, i'd be the perfect boyfriend!...." and start listing stupid afc stuff froim movies

I think many AFC's wanna be DJ's still try to get ahold of this. if a girl looks back at you, its like a natural reaction to look away. I still have trouble wit this, but sometimes if a girl looks back at him, ill gleam the pearl whites at her.

Damn...I have that same problem too. It's not like I'm consciously doing it, either...it's a friggin reflex. By the time I catch it and look back, she's lost interest, too.

I went directly from AFC to almost-total jerk; then within a month or so I got some balance in my attitude and lessened that arrogance inside my speech... going back to AFC is for me psychologically impossible, my perspective on life and women has changed too much for it to happen.

The thing I regret the most about AFC is probably looking like an ass in front of my friends as a woman used me. I can't believe the dumb crap I used to do for women just to hear them say "Thanks, you're so nice!" or "You're such a great guy!"

I would ask my friends for their advice, but then not listen to them. They were all tellin' me, ditch this chick, ditch this chick...and I'm like, nah, I've got everything under control.

Anyone else here a filmmaker/screenwriter? We gotta start tipping the scales away from all the AFC tactics espoused by every teen movie and romantic comedy out there. I think it'd be funny as hell, including all the "nice guy" tactics and showing firsthand how they always blow up in your face.

Sure, we have the Tao of Steve, but it's way too vague to be of much help to the majority of the guys we're trying to save here.

...i remember once in school this hot chick asked me for some gum i was chewing and remarked that the cherry flavored kind was better...so lo and behold..this little AFC went out and bought some just for her and happend to "accidentally" have it the next day!!..just so i could please her...


Another time i recall at the bar was this one girl who talked to me..and i offered to buy her a rose she said its alright you dont have to...bla bla...so the whole night after she left to go chill with her friends i kept sneaking around..trying to "run" into her to talk again...etc..

Seriously...when the blinders come off its hilarious to think of what a f*cking ass you were...


Tonight im gonna have a beer in honor of those old AFC moments and how great it is to be a changed man
