All u pretty much need is a power rack an adjustable bench, a barbell and a good set of plates, belt.

Getting a dumbbell set in addition to that wouldn't hurt either but get what i wrote above first. I don't know if you know much about bands but those could take u a long way, i would probably actually consider getting those before the dumbbells.

Don't worry about getting equipment for accesory move ments just focus on the big ones which a power rack and an adjustable bench will handle.

Squat
Deadlift
Rows
Bench Press
Military Press
Pull Ups

That should start u out on what to get now someone else will chime in with where to get this stuff since i'm not experienced with buying equipment.

Home gyms are great!

I have one.

Heres what I got:

- Power Rack (essential if you ask me... seriously! cost me 750euro!)

- Incline/Flat Bench (get a Flat/Inc & DECLINE if you can)

- Dumbells

- 140kg Barbell Set

- EZ Curl Bar & Tricep Bar (whats the proper name for that again?!)

- Cheapo Barbell with cheapo weights (handy for lighter workouts)

PS - Power Rack comes with lat pull down, chin up bar, dip bar, rowing facility, close grip pull down bar and some other stuff! I got the Powertec Power Rack System one. Its great! Heres some info on it (this is the EXACT one i have):

Why not just go to a gym? I'm guessing you're a beginner, you shouldn't invest that much into something you haven't even started yet. You might not even like weight lifting, or you may give up after a few months.

thanks for replys everyone i hope to get my weight set soon as possiable!

To those who question why i must buy a weight set and not go to a gym? The reason being is the nearest gym is far away from where i live; by buying my own then its more convenient.

As for motovation for a newbie? Take pictures as your body develops and keep looking at pictures of hot ladies lol and imagine them comming to you when they hear about your sexy body need i say more? Besides work outs are only meant to be around 1 hour a day for 3 days a week and i love eating food!

Cant wait to start bulking...

Building my own home gym was probably one of my best ideas ever when it comes to weight lifting. Actually I started that way right away (but didnt start training my legs right away)..and although Im not doing squats because I had a knee problem and am supposed to use a leg press Im still using my home gym twice a week to train my whole upper body and arms (and I'm going to some pretty cheap gym where I work out my legs and my back).
And..working out at home is SO much more comfortable to me. I mean actually I like going to the gym to work out legs and back twice a week because I meet people there and everything, but if we're just talking about weight lifting its just so much more comfortable, because I never have to like look for some clothes I can put on..dont have to like take stuff with me and wonder if I took all the right things (gym card, bottle of water, gym shoes, ...) plus I dont have to drive 10-15 minutes 2 times to get there..and when Im at home its also a lot less boring because in the rests between sets I can watch tv/music or basketball videos/chat with my friends on a messenger.....whereas when Im at the gym most of the time Im sitting there not doing anything trying to recover from the last set for 2-3 minutes before attacking the next one..
Then again I still like going to the gym because I get to meet people, but maybe I'll invest in a leg press some day when Im out of college..

Anyways Im brabbling way too much I just wanted to tell you how good of an idea that is
