I'm getting back on track with the gym and my goal is to gain mass.

I have some questions regarding whey protein -

#1 how often, how much and when do i drink it? I hear from you guys on this board that this is a post workout drink. But the guy at the store says you can drink it about daily/ in the morning.

#2 Is whey protein better or soy protein? the soy has lesser cholestorol, but the guy says for mass, whey is best.

#3 is this the best available protein powder on the market, or is there something better which has less cholestorol?

1. You can drink it pretty much anytime, I gained when I almost exclusivly used whey (concentrate). But that was some time ago.

2. Whey concentrate have BV around 105 if I remember, ISO whey have BV off 150. Soy have below hundred I don't remember the exact number. It's more a question of when you are going to use it. Post workout, then ISO whey beat anything.

3. ISO whey doesn't have cholestrole, at least mine haven't. You can probably check around and look for yourself.

what's ISO whey? And where can i get it?

The only whey protein powder they had at Vitamine Shoppe (where i went) is Whey Tech by Body Tech inc. and that has roughly about the same amount of cholesterol as milk 35mg(12%)

btw i rea d some posts about mixing dextrose with whey protein?
i mentioned this to the store guy and he said , sugar? so is dextrose just sugar?

ISO whey is Whey isolate. Try looking online and searching for it. ISO whey is made using another filtering process or something like that, it usually contain much more protein per serving. Anyways search around for it. You can probably find some internet shops in your country which sell it. Go after what's inside, not the brand.

It says it contains 0 mg cholestrole, (it may include very small doses)

basically, most carbs get broken down into glucose which fuels your body for pretty much all active procceses. Dextrose I believe is simply concentrated glucose, ie already broken down to what you need directly for your body to absorb and fuel for energy. Basically, a quick way of getting energy.
