If you've been single for a while, what would your office colleagues make off you? When I used to work in an office the chat would invariably be centered around their wives and girlfriends. In computer programming world you get a bit of a pass because half the office is single too. And what are you suppose to do for office parties such as christmas when you are expected to turn up with partner and you don't have one?

Go out and get one.
Play up the benefits ' hey last weekend I went skeet shooting' or whatever and make sure u r living room hat life. Do the whole Hollywood romance thing. U can't push these things ..when the time is right... BS chicks love that.
And don't ever ask anyone at work to set u up..believe me its safer to cold approach 100 fem Nazis.
And NEVER let them think your a player. Most workplaces r controlled by the sisterhood these days at least in the west..it won't go well for u.

Everything is about spouses and kids.
Avoid eating with them just eat at your desk and realize that their life isn't so rosy ... They have to put up with a lot of crap you have complete freedom
But I agree that if you're single the office will ostracize you

Yeah u do survive longer in rat race being a beta bytch but it does eat your soul. Start studying/positioning yourself as a software architect/dev lead. People don't put you down when you're a manager.
