Master Don Juan
I have picked up a new habit over the last 2 weeks.. wathcing the Science Channel.. I have always loved history and dinosours and stuff like that.
But I was wathcing, I think 2 or 3 days ago, and I saw something that I honestly had no idea about.
Now, I might be a little off because I had company and wasn't paying total attention, but the world almost came to an end in 1997 when a comet came within 12 million miles of hitting the earth (which isn't far whatsoever in space terms).
It was a show on asteroids.. they said they have figured out ways to knock asteroids from hitting the earth, but if a fallen comet, from a different galaxy were to be headed directly for earth, which is extremely extremely rare but it could happen.. basically we are ****ed, becuase they would not be able to see it in time to do anything about it.
They have to know about Asteroids at least 10 years in advance.. they would only know about a fallen comet in 2... so basically we would have 2 years to know we are going to die, if anyone tells us anything at all.
I just thought that was pretty interesting
