"Notify List"

Can we maybe have a "notify list" going? So if a certein person on these forums post something, you will get an email saying "(username) has posted in (the topic name)" ... So you can add people to your notify list, and when they post, you will be notified via email or something that THAT person that is on your notify list has posted. I think that this function would be rather helpfull to many... what do you think?

You already have that. Check out your user CP button at the top of the screen. You can subscribe to any thread. you will recieve an e-mail whenever someone posts to that topic.

Let me explain in more detail...

Paradox: I am well aware of that function... I was meaning to have something like an email sent to us whenever a certein USER posts ANYWHERE, without you subscribing to that thread.

Eg: I put YOU on my notify list and then you reply to a thread that i am NOT subscribed to, then i will get an email or something telling me that YOU have posted on a thread somewhere.

good idea, but to make something like that for this software u'd have to hire a full time programmer and you'd have all the specs of the forum out int the open. You can do it, if you got an extra grand laying around.

It would have to be built into the vBulletin software. Why would you need to do this unless you are stalking someone?

nah... its got nothing to do with stalking anyone.. its to do with the fact that some people post GOOD advice and there are some people that i would like to keep track of what they have to say about different situations etc, and i'm sure that others would too. But never mind, it doesnt look like you guys are taking it seriously.

Why don't you put them on your buddy list, then every time you log in each day you just hit "search" to see if they've posted any new threads? That's what... a whole 3 clicks (user cp> their name> search for all posts by this user)?
