One thing I noticed after 5 years in the game now is that there are some stages that I went through that may be common to alot of people.
I had went through a huge slump in my mid 20's after losing my virginity late (age 23 to an older woman who worked with me).
I got a girlfriend and shortly after in 2001 started seeing more info on game (prior to this I had heard some Ross Jeffries but was always too chicken**** to work with it).
The stages I went through were the following
1) Reprogramming: Eliminating AFC beliefs, and purging stupid behaviors and actions (this is easily done by posting questions of problems you have and getting advice early on). Thanks to people like Gio and Master of Universe early on.
2) Experimentalism. I wanted to try everything and this gave me courage. I started to approach more and get greater success, even while I dated the LTR that i met before i got involved with game. I got better
3) Intermediate success: I was pretty happy and felt confident even after the breakup of the 3 year LTR that I was able to meet women. My confidence hit the roof when I had several women calling. I had also scored several women during breakups in the LTR.
4) Meeting higher quality women and crashing. I got a real high quality gf who broke my heart. I had her just about ready to move across country but she changed her mind
5) Taking a break from the game- First I took a break from the game when I met a real high quality HB that become an LTR. But I went nuts over her, reverted to a bit of AFC behavior and lost her. This led me to stop
6) INFORMATION OVERLOAD: Getting back into game but worrying about every last detail. I blame the game for this and to this day I think I would have been better off without reading it, because the book gives the impression that it is totally formula based, whereas everyone has to develop their unique style. Style (no pun intended) really does want everyone to develop their own style, but it isn't always clear in the book. I was already 4 years into the game when I read it, but I swear that book set me back since I already knew most of it, but i tried to make my style too formulaic. Plus I still wanted that damn HB ex back that almost moved for me...
7) WHERE I AM NOW: 5 years post game. Scoring with more HB's and then finding another great one who did move cross country for me. She's my live in LTR now. Now I may have jumped the gun in having her move in, but she's great. But now I miss the game.
8) LOVE and LIFE- I love life, my career is doing well, but I miss sarging. My gf is great ,but the game is fun. I'm going to get back to it at the very least to help my friends and lair members. I'm by no means an expert yet, life is a journey but I've had way more success than I ever thought back in my early 20's.
I guess the big lesson is, don't get too caught up in creating the perfect routine stack. Try to get a bit out of your head, but always get out there. Most of all have fun!
I'll write more later, trying to capture some thoughts. I also want to review some of the styles again.
