I went to GNC today, and looked at Nitro Tech, Cell Tech, and some weight gainer.

Basically, I doubt I'll be taking the weight gainer since from what the dude at GNC said, Cell Tech gives you more strength than weight gainer, so unless I want to be a linemen, I won't use the weightgainer.

Cell Tech, well, I might take it, but I'll wait till the football off-season, since I don't want to risk getting dehydrated right now.

Nitro Tech, well, from what I heard, its some kind of super whey protein? It has some graphs on the back that show its way better than whey protein. Do any of you know what it has to make it better? Or, is it really better than whey protein? If any of you have any advice about weight gainers and cell tech, I'll appreciate it too.

^ Bump

Cell Tech is way overpriced, has too much sugar, and you get zero ALA(because it degrades when exposed to air; must be in capsule form). Plus you can get the same desired effect at a cheaper price by using regular creatine and adding dextrose.

So nitro tech has creatine? I thought it was just like super whey protein. I'm already taking whey protein, but would Nitro Tech work better? I really want to know more about it, but I know I can't trust all the bs that's on the magazine ads.

So, if I want to take Cell-Tech in the off season, what would be better to take (other than whey protein/nitro tech). I thought Cell Tech is creatine, right?

What about the weight gainer? thanx

I know I'm asking a lot but I want to be sure I know exactly what I'm putting in my body before I waste my mula on it.

Nitro-Tech does contain creatine. But in regards to the Nitro-Tech whey protein actually being better... No its not. I would stick to a cost effective quality whey protein like Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Protein. Cell Tech is creatine but you would be better off buying just regular creatine from another brand such as ProLab or Optimum Nutrition(because it would be much cheaper) and mixing in dextrose with it. Cell Tech is a waste of money. And concerning the weight gainer, we'd really have to see whats in it. Most of the time, those gainers are just packed with nothing but a **** load of sugar.

Muscletech products aren't crap they're just over-priced and over-marketed.

Creatine -- Anything with CREAPURE logo (EAS Phosaphagen HP) or if you're a non-responder get some V12.

Protein -- Optimum 100% Whey is the all around favorite. I also like Pro Impact b/c it is high in BCAA's as well. And that stuff at Costco "Pro-Rated" is good protein and cheap! 80 servings for $20. At .25 cents a serving you don't get much cheaper than that.

Oh and BTW --- STOP GOING TO GNC. Those guys have no clue what they are talking about. Whenever you ask them a question their answers are all scripted and they couldn't go any further in detail w/o pulling it out of their a$s. Ask questions here and buy online -- hey I'm just trying to save you some cash here.

Well then you're one and the few that are competent there. Most guys just stare down at the table when you ask more complicated questions about things.

If that isn't sarcasm, then I'm about to go buy a year supply of Nitro Tech, lol.

Agree with Industry as to the pricing and marketing of muscletech products. Their "6 page ad reports" drive me crazy and insult my intelligence. Having said that, the Nitrotech bars are worth a go if you can get them for a good price but I wouldn't bother with anything else of theirs. There are better and cheaper alternatives for most, if not all of their products.

I remember when I started lifting, knew ****, and read all the magazines, I came to the conclusion that Nitro Tech was what I needed. I spent $85 bucks at GNC like a newb and got a bunch of overpriced, overhyped, ****. But wow, I remember how pumped I was at my soon to be awesome body. I assume most people go through the stage where they buy this junk, and it keeps the company in business.

Like I said before. Nito Tech and Cell Tech aren't sh1tty supplements. There's a lot worse out there, trust me. But for what you get for your $$ you are overpaying, especially on the Cell Tech. If Nitro was a little cheaper I might actually give it a shot.... it's got some good stuff in there (like pure Whey Isolate and added creatine).

Oh I just read some literature on Nitro... they say to take 2 scoops of it 3 times a day. That's 120g of whey in your system. But it only lasts for an hour in your body each time so you'd be wasting a crapload of money in the process. *** The only time pure whey is truly beneficial is before/after workouts. On off days and mornings take a multi-protein.
