Just curious how many of you guys saw the video on the Nintendo controller
http://media.cube.ign.com/articles/651/651334/vids_1.html

Haha, Nintendos done it agian. This thing has so many possibilites, its nuts. We can see old school games like Punch out, Metroid, Zelda in a diffrent light. This thing looks like it can own the fps market fer sure. Well Vive La Revolution.

A closer look at the controller

Yeah I saw it a few weeks ago.. It looks very weird to me. But, I got out of consoles after the 64 so I don't really care what it looks like..

I think Nintendo has to stop trying to live off of it's 8-bit games. Don't get me wrong, I loved those games. I actually have a flash cart for the GBA that I have about 250 NES games loaded onto(yes, I can play old school nintendo games on the game boy advance hahaha). But they need to seriously develop some great NEW games.

As for the new controller thing...well, anyone remember the power glove? How popular was that? I don't know why they're into the whole motion thing right now. The DS handheld has a touchscreen which IMO is pretty gay. I mean, how fun can it really be to touch a touchscreen or wave your controller in front of the screen like a retard. They just seem like gimmicks that will get old really fast. Gamers want quality games and consoles, not cheesy amusement park-type gimmicks.

yeah, even thier new games are usually remakes of the old games... and the old games that are really, really really good they can't get the rights to (MGS, FF)...

I would like to see a couple of games remade however:

general Cahos (Sega Genesis)
Ultra Beast (Sega Genesis)
Streets of RAge (Sega Genesis)
Excitebike (Nintendo)
Parasite Eve (PSone)
Double Dribble (Nintendo)
Tecmo Bowl (Nintendo... really I just want to hear the tecmo bowl intro song again, i still have it in my head)
The Original In the Zone (PSone.. whoever remakes this basketball game could make a lot of money, to this day still my favorate basketball game to play, and you can't play a season, do trades, and they pronunce everyones name wrong.. the gameplay is THAT fun)
Reloaded (PSone)

And finally, stop trying to be "revloutionary" nintendo, and remake just give us what everyone wants.. a remake of all of the Super Marios in 3-D... What the **** was super mirio Sunshine?

You know how many people would buy a remade version of Super Mario 2 / 3 in 3-D with todays graphics?

It doesn't matter how good-looking you are, how romantic you are, how funny you are... or anything else. If she doesn't have something INVESTED in you and the relationship, preferably quite a LOT invested, she'll dump you, without even the slightest hesitation, as soon as someone a little more "interesting" comes along.

They did remake Excitebike, for N64. Go download the rom and play it, it's sort of fun. Anyways, I don't like the new controllers. But I haven't played anything since n64. I think I want to grab a gamecube just for the Zelda game, Windwalker. I think I also want the new Zelda game for the handheld system, I don't even know what it's called.

Goddamnit, I love Zelda

edit: anyone play the old school RPGs for snes? Chrono Trigger, Secret of Mana, etc. I just started getting into it, since I downloaded the ROMs. Good shiat.

If you're talking about Zelda: the minish cap, I have that rom on my flashcart too(750mb flashcart :)). Awesome game.

The problem with Nintendo is their lack of variety of games like Sony and Microsoft have. Ever since the 64, too many 'kiddie' games have been coming out. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Nintendo but that's the truth.

The controller is interesting, but again it depends on how game developers utilize it. I'd like to see what kind of crazy ideas developers come up with.

Ummm... get two of those badboys and give me a mechwarrior game :D.

Or 2 of them and a boxing game. That would be tight.

I think the possibiities are much more limited if you only have one controller. But yeah. FPS are gonna rock, and this thing can basically act like a mouse, so the RTS market might open up to Nintendo.

But wouldn't your arm eventually get tired moving that thing around? Or what if I'm sick and want to chill and play videogames. Or what of I'm in a cramped space. I'm gonna be knocking over my drink with this thing.

But yeah, I hope its not another powerglove. It looks a lot more promising.

Where ever I am
I got out of consoles after 64 and have been going all computer. I think its my love of RTS and MMORPG (did someone say everquest...well everquest 2) that will never let me go back to console.
I used to have the orginal mario and all the old school games. But I was young when it came out so I don't remember it to much, but I think I would be borred to fast of it.

Oh man I hope this thing isn't a gimmick, It seems revolutionary: control of 3d space, instant point and click action and ect. If they try to compete with Sony and Microsoft head to head, I think Nintendo would be destroyed.

im a gamer, and altho my last system was the sega genesis, and i have a limited gameboy collection (and cant find my gameboy) i have been a subscriber to nintendo since about volume 140 .. aah exactly volume 140 and soon as i get some money im gonna go out and buy the games i like, right now spartan warrior looks amazing, and all the prince of persia, yes some are on pc, but its a single player experience so ill stick to the console. and yeah with wi-fi probably extending to consoles too, oh man, consoles will live forever.

sony got it right...

They didn't focus on the graphics of the system as much as they did the games that you could play on the new system... PSone was still in my opinion the best Console of it's time?? How good? There are games that I STILL play to this day, bad graphics and all, on my PS2.. Parasite Eve, Crono Trigger, Resident Evil 2, MGS, etc.

I prefer good graphics to game play in my opinion playstation isnt that good, i havnt enjoyed console games since the n64 and that had the best graphics at that time

N64 owned the psone my friends even left they psone to play my n64 at that time.

The revolution i think would be a good console and will have the better graphics than the 360 or ps3. even though nintendo dont have as much games nintendo still knows how to make fun games, ps and microsoft is more focused on quantity than quality.

i doubt i'll be buying another console to play vids on. Pricing and payments have gotten too be too much. though you will be able to download movies and music on the PS3 and the xbox, which gives them some value, I can't really see my self purchising another nintendo product to play games from when I was 8 (wow i'm really aging myself there) unless i have kids or something which is a bit down the line. The controller is nice but my gaming days to keep me out of trouble will be limited when I get a serious career going in Miami.
