Recently, I've been noticing the quality of the advice being given to newbies constantly degrading. With newbies being able to give advice as well as asking for it is resulting in other newbies being incredibly confused. The lack of people on here reading the DJ Bible is becoming more evident, and advice from the discussion forum is being more accepted. The result is making this thread look a lot more like the other popular site girlproblems.com with it's mixed opinions on even the simplest questions.

When I originally came here in 2001, I did much more reading than posting which helped me relate what went wrong in my past relationships, and helped me prevent future mistakes. I'm quite happy with the results from all the knowledge I've gained and have put into practice. However, this site is drifting further away from what it once was when I joined.

I'm suggesting some form of control over how much the newbies can post when they first register with this forum. Since I once was a newbie, I can relate to how enlightened I was when I read posts by other knowledgeable people on here. However, newbies want to hop onto the same boat as the more experienced DJs as quickly as possible, giving advice that seems to sound good, without actually experiencing the results.

If newbies were to have a limit - say 5 posts per day, it would help encourage them to read more posts, and hopefully the DJ Bible, but it would also provide them a means of asking specific questions on the forum. Once they reach a certain limit, say 100 posts after 2 months of being registered, they would be allowed to post an infinate amount of times.

I believe this would help keep the quality of the site up to what it has been in the past. I'd hate to see the quality of this site go down the tubes.

Wow, a suggestion I actually agree with! :D

That could work, but I'm more concerned about how well guys are doing in reality than the quality of this site. This could encourage newbies to hit the streets and work on their communication skills.

Good Idea.
