Guys, what are your plans for the coming year?

New year resolution: A New Year's resolution is a commitment that an individual makes to a project or the reforming of a habit, often a lifestyle change that is generally interpreted as advantageous.

Recent research shows that while 52% of participants in a resolution study were confident of success with their goals, only 12% actually achieved their goals. Men achieved their goal 22% more often when they engaged in goal setting, (a system where small measurable goals are being set, such as, a pound a week, instead of saying "lose weight")

What do YOU want to achieve?
What are some goals you will set for 2011?
How will you reach them?

Personally I will go in more detail in my journal, but my new years resolutions are:

1. Keep working out 3x a week and gain mass.
2. Improve my game.
3. Be more social
4. Keep my 3.5 grade point average.
5. Keep improving my guitar skills
6. Try out making money from the internet.
7. I want to look back at 2011, knowing that it was a year of right action. A year of fun, little regrets, many mistakes (depends) and huge improvement.

So, what are yours?

1. Be more outgoing/ get out of my comfort zone more and take risks

2. improve my game/ get more dates and social skills

3. Find a balance between rowing and rest of life( I row for my school in the spring/ winter training in winter, and the last couple years of HS it has taken over my life in the spring time completely, as we practice around 20hours a week 30 weeks in the year. This year i have already decided not to do winter training for and instead work out on my own in the gym with a couple of freinds, because i dont enjoy running outside in the snow at freezing temperatures (getting sick also) and erging (which is basically hell) as well as it has made me happier not doing it and it easier to keep up grades. And also you dont really gain much asthetic muscle which is important to me.

3. Start Playing guitar again, mainly just learn a couple easier songs really well so that i can always play and have fun ( I played guitar for years a but stopped a couple years ago and lost most of it, but think that if i start playing again it will come back to me)

4. Have an amazing time touring europe with my freinds in the summer( im doing a eurrail thing for a month and a half with 2 other freinds and were going around europe, mainly going around italy/spain/southern france. im from germany but life in the US and neither of them have been to europe.)

5. Get a good reputation and make some good friends when I start college next fall.

6. Just have a fvcking amazing year, filled with adventures and memories that i can look back on later and just have fun

Dude i wish i could have the determination you have. I started working out since we have FREE access to the gym in my college..(yea i know free i should go every possible day)...But i got lazy, and i stopped going... Only thing i love doing is driving my car.. I did bicycling for about a month then randomly dropped it. I flirt with girls and all but still nonetheless i am lazy...

Funny thing is that a friend of mine told me he doesn't know how i talk with hotish girls and they've heard them talking about me. he wanted me to teach him. That gave me a fuzzy feeling when he told me ha, never really knew people looked up to me. I always looked minimal of myself, i guess that would be a perfect example of bad self-confidence. :/

Also i never even finished watching blueprint decoded. got to DVD 9 and got lazy then never finished em..

I did make one improvement today though. I blocked PORN!!! that **** is insanely addicting. gotta stop jacking off to, also fking addicting... I had an FB, then one day outa the blue she brings up a BF. I'm just like wtf?

What sucks though is living with your parents, especially when they raised you not to party and such. I've only gone to one party ONE! an that's cuz i'm in college, i would move out but then that's more money that i'd have to spend.

Idk to be honest my life is probably pretty sweet and i know i have plenty of positives. Problem is i lose control of myself and compare myself to others who live the party life and do whatever they want lifestyle. I love my parents to death but they can be fcking annoying. My dad always tells me, "In life son, it's not all about parties, life is serious you need an education, it's not all about fun and games blah blah blah" everytime it's always in life this in life that, fckn annoying!!.He always tells me to study this study that. The more he tells me honestly the less i actually wanna do it...He basically thinks i'm a retard who's gonna fail in life. I've badly wanted to tell him off so badly, but i could never do that to my dad. After all he did take care of me like a proper father should throughout childhood.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION: Get my sht straight, i know i can fix everything except the moving outa my parents house. Just gotta stop being lazy! but it's so easy lols..

maaaaannnn I felt like such an AFC while i was typing this..

but like i said new years resolution is to get my sht straight and stop being lazy

Some things is just about deciding to do them, simply because you have to. Go research, and make it a habit. Consistency is the most important factor in almost everything.

You got a taste of validation bro. That feeling is what we should self-generate. You don't have bad confidence, you have a bad self-image. Change your self image. Do everything that it says you cant.
I've always looked on myself as a smart kid, even when I got a 3 in maths, I still thought I was really good. It didn't even phase me. It's the same thing with your self-image. You gotta contradict it enough, and accept it.

Also i never even finished watching blueprint decoded. got to DVD 9 and got lazy then never finished em..
Then finish it!!!!

Well done. Go socialize bro.

I don't think you could spend your money more wise than by moving into a dorm.

Don't compare yourself to others. I feel you on your parents. Just now, my mom keeps telling me that I'm not allowed to make any plans untill 2nd of january, for the simple reason that "You have to relax".
Your dad is highly identified with his ego it seems. He tries to live through you. Don't be mad at him for it, he doesn't know better. Being happy is more important than studying, studying is still important tho. Develop a lifestyle where you are productive and take action; be it being social or doing homework.

NEW YEARS RESOLUTION: Get my sht straight, i know i can fix everything except the moving outa my parents house. Just gotta stop being lazy! but it's so easy lols..
Your ego naturally does not want to leave it's comfort-zone. Change is dangerous. Accept that that is not you, and go change yourself.
maaaaannnn I felt like such an AFC while i was typing this..
I think you just gained a lot of wisdom on yourself
but like i said new years resolution is to get my sht straight and stop being lazy
So dude, your main problem is identifying with this ****. Don't identify, just be aware of it. It's not you.
Read The power of Now and A new Earth by Eckhart Tolle, these books will help YOU a lot.
Read this: http://www.rsdnation.com/node/135273
That is what you should be doing. You can still change.
Read this: http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4453839/Conquer_Your_Campus
He changed, and he tells you how to be succesfull in college. Be socially proactive dude. It's all about taking right action.

JerryFl08, don't work out alone! I am just as lazy as you, but I work out regularly, because I always do it with my friends who sometimes just force me to get my ass from couch. Find someone to motivate you if you can't do it on your own. However, you also need to try motivating yourself, even if it's hard at the beginning. If you don't feel like going to gym that particular day, just work out in your house, but you need to do it regularly.

I'm probably much more AFC than you are, but I managed to make myself work out regularly (with not so little help from my friends ;)), so you can do it too!

That's from Tolle's stuff, you should start reading up immediately. A new Earth is a much easier read.
