I'm going to start working out in January. I've come up with a routine that I think will be pretty good. I'd like for you guys to tell me what you think. It is to be done 3 days a week. M-W-F. Rotate upper/lower body every other workout.

day 1-upper body
-incline dumbbell bench press 4X10,9,8,6
-behind the neck shoulder press 3x10,8,6
-Bent Rows 4x10,9,8,6
-Barbell Curls 2x10,8
-Dips 3x10,8,6

day 2-lower body/abs
-Squats or Leg Press 4x10,9,8,6
-Still Leg Deadlifts 3x10,8,6
-Calf Raises 4x15,14,12,10
-Crunch Machine 3x20

chinups are missing.....and why do you preset exactly how many reps you do.....that aint smart man.....nobody knows in advance exactly how many reps he can do - unless someone is training too light. else it looks good.

I do very similar routine in terms of Upper Body / Lower Body. Because I have only so much time and can't break up to certain body parts. Also I do MMA so i have different goals. But I personally have 5-8 exercises per Routine. Overall you are hitting major muscle groups and that is what it is designed to do.

here's the thoughts I have looking at that right away man.

No regular deads. SLDL are great, but you can't throw on the lbs that you can do with regular deads. Throw 400 lbs on regular deads and you're gonna be beat... it's an awesome exercise.

too much volume. Too many exercises for that many bodyparts in one day.

squats and SLDL. Shouldn't be possible on the same day

if you cut all your sets on day 1 to 2, then i think it looks great.

I'd say rotate every other week with the bent rows.... do bent rows one week, deadlifts the next... etc. Then it'll be a pretty good routine.
