I grew up and lived in NJ my whole life, until recently when I moved up to Mass for grad school. As most of you know, NJ is the butt of many jokes. High Cost of living, traffic, unfriendly people and bad drivers only existed in NJ, or so I thought. I got out of NJ because I thought other states were so much better, in particular, Massachusetts. The lesson I learned is that "the grass is not always greener on the other side.

Some things I have learned about Mass, compared to NJ.

Cost of living is just as bad, if not worse in Mass.

Massachusetts has the worse drivers, it is mind boggling, I get cutoff atleast once a day.

The roads are terrible, old and filled with potholes...including the major interstates.

People are no more friendly than they are in NJ.

There really is no point to this thread, other than to stick up for my roots, NJ.

People who are not happy with their life need to blame something. In your case you chose NJ.

I live in Monmouth County NJ which I think is one of the better places to live. Although, I think NYC and Hoboken NJ are among the best places to meet young attractive single women.
The south is best for meeting friendly females. Georgia for example.

Most of the people who knock NJ have never spent anytime there except for the turnpike or Newark airport.

Monmouth County is nice, I grew up in the poorer Ocean County.

LOL A girl I know was on MTVs "Switched" and she got moved from Los Angeles to somewhere in New Jersey. She brought over the tape (because I missed it) and we watched it. Guess what was the highlight of the show? She and her host family went out in an orchard to pick oranges. lol. She's never going back to New Jersey.

Yes, Rutgers is in New Brunswick, Middlesex County.

Middlesex county is not bad, although New brunswick and Perth Amboy have plenty of sections you would not want to be.

Essex county has alot worse areas such as Newark, Elizabeth, Irvington, East Orange, South Orange and Orange.

If you currently have too many women chasing you, calling you, harassing you, knocking on your door at 2 o'clock in the morning... then I have the simple solution for you.

Just read my free ebook 22 Rules for Massive Success With Women and do the opposite of what I recommend.

This will quickly drive all women away from you.

And you will be able to relax and to live your life in peace and quiet.

the only area in Middlesex County that I like is New Brunswick.

Edison, route 1, route 18 in East Brunswick, Woodbridge and many other areas I see no point in going to unless you already live there.

Those roads are a traffic nightmare, especially around the holidays...since there are like three malls in the area.

So your one of the reasons all those homes are dark when I drive down Ocean Ave in the winter?

Yeah, Deal is a beautiful area, too bad it's so close to Asbury Park.
Talk about going from paradise to Baghdad all within a couple of miles.

South Orange Ave is actually prtetty nice right by Seton Hall....but if you head the opposite direction past Seton Hall you walk straight into hell.

People from out of Jersey who think Jersey sucks only sees the bad parts of Jersey, which usually border other states.

I live in North Arlington, which is in Bergen County buts borders Kearny, which is in Hudson. Its pretty busy for a suburb. I live in the town where they filmed the Sopranos. That pizza shop named "Pizza Land" in the opening credits is two blocks from my house.

I'm in camden county and wouldn't move to anywhere except maybe florida, heres why:

1) It is one of the few states that touch an ocean. I know people in Colorado that have never even SEEN an ocean for themselves, just sad.

2) Snow. I am a huge fan of snowstorms because I love sledding and truely appreciate beuty in nature. Again, there are people that have never seen snow for themselves either.

3) The Philadelphia Eagles. While the smos in north jersey have to chear for the Giants, most of us below Trenton have the pleasure of calling the Eagles our home team. Football isn't just a sport here it's a religion. The Eagles are to the Philly area what the Red Sox are to Boston, if not more now because we haven't had a championship in Philly in 24 years.

4) Easy access to NYC, Philly, handful of different beaches

5) Best gas prices in the nation

I think North Jersey is what gives the state its bad rep. Alot of factories and buildings and crime up there. The only that that is really true about the reputation of Jersey and that I cannot stand is the traffic/density.
