Ok I sort of got bored with my diet so I've changed it up, heres the break down.

Wake up 5:30 am (go for a short run or walk)

6 am - 2 scoops whey (50 grams protein) and 2 slices of vogal with peanut butter and jam.

9 am - 2 scoops whey and bowl of porridge

midday - 200 gram tuna and cup of brown rice

3 pm - 6 inch subway (either roast beef or turkey, double meat)

prework out - 200 gram tuna and cup of brown rice

after workout - 2 scoops whey

9 pm - 2 chicken breasts and cup of steamed veges or 1 large peice of steak and cup of steamed veges.

Now the supplements I'm on.

I take salmon oil tabs (3 tabs) in the morning

bcaa's after my workout (6 tabs)

and 1 packet each of Animal pak and stak 2 before my workouts.

Any comments welcome.

What is your goal with your diet?

I don't think that the 8 hour fast you just got done with should be followed with exercise... i think eating at least a little something before activity is a good idea.

I also haven't read much about animal paks but the general idea i get is that it's just an expensive way to make your pee orange

Looks fine for me. Fasted cardio is a good idea although consider taking some BCAA's (4-5g) beforehand unless you have a lot of bodyfat to lose.

You must have carbs after your workout though - with your whey have gatorade, juice, sugar, fruit, whatever you like. Also consider a half serving of carbs in your last meal of the day, maybe a full serving if you're having trouble gaining.

Otherwise it looks fairly good as long as you're not getting fat from it..

about the animal products, I know they are really expensive but I made friends with this dumb guy in highschool ages back and today he owns a supplement store so that equals cheap supllements for me :).

And I'm not gaining or losing a thing im stuck at 180 pounds but my strength is skyrocketing up and my body fat is slowly dripping away.

is this a good diet, if you plan on losing weight and gaining muscle (not so much of bulking but getting ripped)

The only thing i know to change is the 9pm meal, if i can use this diet to lose eight ide change it to around 6pm or 7pm and not eat after that and sleep around 10.

yes you need protein to rebuild muscles but you more than likely get enough in your diet with out the Whey! If you keep taking that much your body is going to flush it out or use it as fuel instead of fat. If you are trying to build lean muscle than IMO you are taking to much protein. If you are trying to lose weight than you are definitely using to much protein. The more muscle you build the higher your metabolism gets and the more fat it will burn regularly. Either way you don't need that whey protein. You should eat right before your workouts. Also you should eat 15-30 Min's after your workout. Something with natural sugars. It doesn't say it but I am assuming you drink a lot of water. Also a good vitamin to add to your diet here is One A Day - Maximum.

It only adds up to about 300g of protein per day a bit less if I skip a meal due to uni and work, and yea I drink like 5 litres a day. So far this is working well and the tuna and brown rice stop me from getting too hungry. I still have to wake up at around 3 am to have a peanut butter and jam sandwich.

Edit : I'm getting stronger each week so I take it I must be building some muscle mass while burning just enough fat. I'll keep your tips in mind and see where I'm at at the end of the year :)

Zero.. do you read anything he said? He's getting stronger and stripping off fat. He has found the holy grail as far as I'm concerned. He doesn't need to change anything except some pwo carbs.

I have read no articles that support any sort of scientific evidence of fasted workouts being good for you... In order to keep your metabolism up you need to eat every 2-3 hours... why in the world would you go from an 8 hour fast directly in to a workout, your body is already in a catabolic state the quickest way for it to cut weight to be more efficient is to catabolize muscle not to mention get the required nutrients to perform these actions. The BCAA is a good choice to include with some sort of protein in my oppinion.

he's not doing weights on empty, he's doing cardio (run or walk). cardio at that intensity will not catabolise much muscle, and the BCAAs beforehand (or even a little whey) will ensure that negligible muscle is lost.. bodyfat will be preferred as a fuel source in this case.

I would never advise a weights workout on an empty stomach, nor more intense cardio like sprints.

And as for scientific evidence.. much of it has no application in the real world. ;)

Yea its a short walk around a few blocks thats all nothing special, if I do the walk or run it sort of gives me a boost for the whoel day I feel alive and full of energy, if I dont do it I feel like a zombie.

I guess it kickstarts me up in the morning :)
