Hey guys.

Recently I decided to start training for boxing. Next week I'ma join a boxing club.

I'm 124 lbs and looking to go up to 135 .. muscle ofcourse.
Last time I checked my body fat I was 18.5%

I'm 5'7 :(

Anyways, yeah I need a good routine. The one I have right now sucks. its like this:

40 Push Ups, 20 second break, again with push ups, until im tired.

40 crunches.. this is were im not so good at.. I need a fast way to improve my abs.. any suggestions?

Dumbbell curls for 7 Minutes. 25 pound dumbbell

Then I go out for a mile and a half run. I run the whole thing, no breaks.

When I get back I take a 5 minute break and than I start shadow boxing for 3 minutes, then a 30 second break, and shadowboxing again. I repeat this process for 15 minutes.

I need to improve my punching speed. Any quick way on doing this?

My only supplement is a multivitamen. (One A Day, men's health formula is the name of the vitamens.) I also have a powdered drink that is called "Carbrite diet smoothie". It has 23g protein but im afriad of taking this because of the vitamen it has and taking it with the multivitamen, i dont want to get overdosed. Should I take it? It has 2 g of carbs and 1.5g of fat. :/ Not so good if I want to gain muscle right?

So yeah, if anyone could be very very kind and provide me with a good boxing routine, supplement, and food I should eat then please, post it.

Thank you very much in advance.

Your boxing gym will take care of your punching ability. Don't worry about it. You can improve handspeed with technique and proper training, but you have your limits. Speed is genetic.

Boxing, greatest sport in the world.

When u run, do interval running, not just runs without stopping.

I would recommend you do about 10 minutes of skipping to start your workout. Then do about 4 rounds of shadow boxing. 4 Rounds on the heavybag. A couple of rounds on both Speedbag and floor to ceiling bag. Do abs, crunches, get a training partner and use the medicine ball.

As far as weights, you only want to do the weights that will increase your punching power, no point increasing muscles that are not going to help your boxing. Do calf raises, benchpress, deadlifts, squats.

I have boxed for years and years, its my greatest passion in life. More than woman!!

If you want some good links on this stuff, here is some advice from some of the most knowledgable men in the sport, each one is an article on conditioning, strength, supplements. Not much to read, but it will help greatly.
