OK, I'll fess up: I go to a shrink about once a month to clear the cobwebs out. Helps tremendously.

Without spilling too much, I have one-itis right now and have experienced the pullback and it's grinding on me. Luckily I haven't showed it on the outside and I do my AFCing (whining) at home. That said, AFCing is still AFCing, thus the shrink.

Amazing, but my shrink is a DJ and doesn't even know it. He tells me to STOP everything. Don't go forward, don't even pullback (tried both, both failed) just stop everything.

Then he says go work on diet (mine sucks lately), sleep (not good either) and exercise (sporadic). Basically, work on myself.

It's nice to know the mental health profession is up on the fine intricacies of DJism!

Wow, you mean he recommended a healthy diet, exercise, and sleep. What a genius!!! Those are some radical ideas.

Nice sarcasim

Well, my point is a lot of people here don't do that sh-t! Mostly it's an all-out assault in how to get the woman back with techniques galore. Bet you're one of those guys!

What exactly did he mean by stop everything?

Like stop getting involved with this oneitus and let her go? and stop thinking about her? did you use the term "oneitus" to him?

I agree with him..playing games with an unresponsive chick is mental torture.

I used to tell my self to STOP IT! YOU ARE OBSESSING! over my oneitus..and it works..its the basic premise of nexting..losing all contact..mourning and moving on..but the longer you cling on..and relate failed attempts to your own "shortcoming" the more you will be depressed, anxious and obsessive.

cheers

I'm sure I'll get the smack from Unbridled or Ronin or whoever, but what he meant was don't try anything, even pullback is trying. Which is a good point. I didn't use any DJ terminology, probably too confusing. Heck I get confused here myself reading about AFCs, DJs, IL, LTRs, NEXT, ****blocking, or whatever.

I was pulling back myself, but also at the same time torturing myself. So saying stop kind of got me to think. Not that I still don't have my private AFC moments, but I got the message.

Yes, true dat.

There are 2 types of Pullbacks..one with a motive (to entice the brood)

or the type that pulls back..and stays back.

You no longer wanna do the dance. and you have to come to terms that YOUR Pullback..is the permanent one.

WestCoaster,

You just gave me an idea for a career change. I'll become a psychologist and charge people $100/hr. to tell them to "just do nothing" and get plenty of exercise and sleep.

Actually I got off good in the $$$ dept., it was about $100 less than the $100 you mentioned. Freebie. But he makes good coin anyway, probably way more than that minimum wage job you have at K-Mart. :>) So yes, you should change careers!
