Hey all, I just wanted to update you on my progress and how this site has helped!
Although this story is long and has a 'non-favorable' ending, I by no means consider it a failure. Please read.
About 3 weeks ago I went to a local entertainment venue, complete with arcades, pool tables and a bar/restuarant. I spotted this HB9 (definately) waitress, she was walking around everywhere and serving people. We eventuallly caught eyes and I gave her a smile and she gave me a huge one back (learnt that from this site!), so at this point I knew something was up, but I still was not at the confidence level I am at now thanks to this site. So later on that even I only got to say 'HI' to her as she passed me by and she said hi too with a smile.
So now fast forward to the present about 3-4weeks. I have filled my head with the good information and articles from this site, so this time my confidence was sky high bcos I had put my knowledge to practice already in the hopes to make myself better. So I was back at the place (its called Dave & Busters) she was working too, it wasnt till later that night she saw me and we said 'HI' again with a smile, I was playing pool with friends and was sure to make eye contact with her once in a while as she passed by. At one point she was serving people near us so I through in something C+F that made her laugh after saying 'Hi Sarah' to her using her name bcos I saw it on her name tag, she responded well to the use of her name and thats when I through in the C+F comment.
So as the night came to a close thats when I decided to make a move, I left my friends playing pool (at this point I hadnt lost a game so I couldnt leave b4). I approached her and was like "You guys dont seem to get 10 seconds to just rest" she agreed and we fluffed for a few seconds. Then I went 4 it, I was like "Well, I have to leave with my friends now, but b4 I go I wondered if we could get together sometime soon over a cup of coffee or something". At this point I couldnt believe the emense set of balls I was displaying, it was as if something had taken over my AFC ways (it has- its the DJ in me). Now at this point she was smiling ear to ear and this was her response: "Thats really nice of you, but I am actually engaged to someone, you are very handsome and under any other circumstances I would've loved to". At this point I am totally shocked, I had not even looked at her hand at any point b4 (I usually check 4 a ring first but I guess with her I was too busy checking other parts of her
) . I apologized to her if I seemed ignorant and she was very cool about the whole thing. We were actually kinda giggling about too. After apologizing to her I told her that her fiance must be a lucky man and she was thanking me for that and also approaching her, she stressed the fact that I was handsome again and that if she wasnt engaged she would have accepted. We shook hands again and said good bye, we both said it was a pleasure meeting and I told her I would see her again when I come back. And that was it.
Now, I have been turned down my fair share of time but she was VERY sincere and very nice, it really could not have been easier. After leaving not only did I feel like I just graduated to some sort of new DJ status I felt good bcos she had complemented me and I had put my best foot forward during my approach. I maintained eye contact, smiled and tried to make a close as smooth and direct as possible, if she perceived it as lame she would have blew me off like any other tom **** or harry.
I feel ready for my next approach, and more importantly confindent of it. My simple advice to anyone out there starting out, 'just do it'! With practice comes experience and experience brings about strength.
