Hey all...

I am 18 years old, about 175m tall, and i weigh 65kg, which is lihgt for my age, but i AM really thin, except for my lower stomach (where ur 6 pack would normally be) has this flubby fatty stuff which prevents my 6 pack from showing, and when i sit down etc it makes me look fat... i do about 200 crunches every day, i run for 1km, and i do about 30 minutes of boxing a day, i play alot of soccer and i body-board...

Now when i stand up, i was told that i have a "sexi" body, but i could do with a 6 pack.... for the past year or so i have trying to get rid of that excess "fat" on my lower stomache and i just cant seem to get rid of it, and i hardly eat at ALL, i am a health freak, i wont touch potato chips, anything oily, white bread, ANYTHING fat i dont touch!

So i guess that what i am asking is... What can i do to get rid of that excess fat on my lower stomache and make my 6 pack stick out?

My abs are really strong as it is, because i have been working them out alot, but they just dont SHOW because of that excess fat... under my ribs i have like a "2 pack", but where that "4 pack" is meant to be, there is excess fat that i dont know where it came from, or how to get rid of it... So if you guys could help me out here, iu would really appreciate it alot.... let me know

Thanx in advance...

You're 175m tall and only 65kg! Thats over 500 feet tall...play some basketball!

just joking with you... :)

What you have around your midsection is water.

Are you using creatine? If so, creatine allows your body to store more water than it normally would- thus giving you a 'smoothed' out look. This ultimatally goes away once you stop using the product.

If you're not using a creatine product it still sounds to be 'water weight'. You're diet sounds great...mine is the same way. Staying away from chips, McDonalds, fatty food and sticking with high protein, complex carb type dishes. Your diet is very clean, i wouldn't change it.

There is a product out on the market called "Xpel" and what this does is rid the body of its excess water under the skin. I have not used this, but i do have a subscription to Musclemag and there's always advertisements for the newest supplements. You can always reasearch it for yourself to see if it's indeed good for you.

A few of the best exercises for your abs are: hanging knee raises, and resistance crunches with a rope. Remember to hit your obliques...a balanced midsection isnt complete till you get razor cut obliques!

Hope this helps you!!

I'm 20, 6'1", and 184lbs with 11.5% BF. I think I know what you are talking about. I'm toned and slender, but you just BARELY see my abs. When I sit down, I can grab hold of what I believe is fat on top of my ab muscles. I can feel the muscle under it too. Seems like I can pinch 3/4-1inch of skin...

I haven't been doing any cardio lately, so maybe once I do I can loose that extra fat. Though I don't see how this is water retention. So I too suppose have the same question as the poster.

However I feel a lot has to do with genetics. Some people naturally maintain a low BF...below 10%, or they distribute their fat differently

It sounds like a bit of excess bodyfat, but since you do so much exercise and have a healthy diet, I think it may be a metabolism issue.

Do you drink? If so, try cutting out all alcohol for a while (difficult for some) as this is a prime cause of weight gain and even worse if you're an occasional drinker.

Otherwise, do you have occasional eating binges? If the body is used to a low calorie, low fat diet, it will store any excess intake.

I drink normally on the week ends, but not alot at all, maybe a spin or 2, thats it.... but i'll cut that out as well now.

Well... thats really interesting to me... and not really, i'm normally very dicciplined when it comes to food, but i DO have my odd accation where i would eat McDonalds or have a packet of chips or have a little chocolate (maybe i do each of those once a month), but harldy ever, and the quantity of it is small when i DO eat it, buy\t ya, i guess i'll cut ALL "junk food" from now on.

i am wondering if there are any natural ways to get rid of it (the extra "fat") really quickly?

Let me know.... thanx in advance...

I wouldnt use that water retention supplement eithter...just mentioned it in case you didnt hear of it and were willing to try. Are you including a protein shake to your diet? Protein is the most important part to a bodybuilder's diet, or anyone who wants to gain muscle for that matter.

Some other ab exercises are...

-Any kind of sit up
-Obliques on a hyperextention machine
-Reverse crunch (Bring your knees to your chest)
-Leg raises on the ground
-'Bicycles' (in the sit up position, raise your legs and make like you are riding a 'bike', and continue to do the sit up.
-Running

I only do abs three times a week. Many people say you can train them every day. I do not believe so, they are like any other muscle group. Would you train biceps or chest every day, day in and day out? Of course not!

What i'm trying to do is strengthen and build up my abs so they show through that little bit of 'water' (everyone has a little bit). Then come spring time i'm going to run every day to get them to show through even more. I've seen good results thus far. You can see them, but not nearly enough as i want!

Try this...you should see results too

It looks like your "abs region" is your no1 fat storage site. It is mostly genetics that control this. Some have "apple" shape bellies, others have "pear" shape bellies, wheras others get fat asses or fat legs.
When I had 10 kg more than now, I would store my fat in the "abs region" and face (at least it looked like it). There was hardly any change in my arms/legs/butt.

I would really like to get my shoulders in shape. I work on them a lot but they do not show as much as I want (sth like basketball players etc) I guess I have too much fat under my skin in this region.

One thing you might want to try is:
Exercising the lower part of your abs and the oblique parts.

look, i'm 17 (turnin 18 in a month), and i'm as tall as u. i'm genetically good (i have a 8 pack), but, although i weigh 3 kgs less than u (that's like 7 lbs), my abs show just a little... so i think u need to cut some other weight, or better convert it into muscles... by the way, what's your fat percentage? my abs look good when it's under 8.5%, otherwise they are just barely visible... keep that in mind
