Hello everyone, my name is Daniel.

Well I've decided to keep a journal here to track my progress towards my current goal. This is to get down to six pack level bodyfat by my birthday, which is the 24th of November. After this I plan to eat very cleanly with around 300g of protein per day and will try to pack on some muscle without getting my rubber tire back.

The plan at the moment is to do an half and hour of fairly intense cardio, 5/7 days per week. I will also be doing weightlifting to help my body to burn fat and not lean mass.

These are my stats from the very limited lifting I've already been doing over past few months. I will be haveing 2-3 days rest between each weightlifting day, the focus here is definately on burning bodyfat not packing on muscle.

Height, 5-11
Weight 71 Kg
Waist 32''

Day1
Deadlift 80kg x7-8
Lat pulldown 60kg x7-8
BB curl 28kg x8

Day2
Military press 35kg x7-8
Full Squat 40kg x8

Day3
Bench press 40kg + smith bar x7-8
Incline press 30kg +smith bar x9-10

Well here is my first entry of yesterday's workout, I only just started doing squats all the way down, and dam they make my legs feel wrecked.

Squats
40kg x8
40kg x8
40kg x6

Military press, standing
35kg x7
35kg x7

Now I'm about to go for a walk for an hour, only cardio my legs can manage atm. I appreciate any advice people can give me on losing weight, I've already lost 15kg of fat so I do have some idea, but I really hit a plateua for a few months and cant get rid of my last little gut, I would say there is no more than 5kg to go till I have a six pack. I'm determined to get to my ideal bodyfat by my birthday and will do whatever it takes.

Cheers everyone :)

If you were losing fat successfully (15kg is a HUGE loss, congratulations!) then continue what you were doing, but up your calories and add more cardio. Let your body believe you're not starving but continue to burn calories through increased activity levels. Like two sessions on off training days, 30-45 mins a time.

Thanks for your reply Warboss Alex, that is pretty much the same conclusion I came to, up the calories a bit and rely more on cardio to do the job.

Man, I can't believe how wrecked my legs are still, I had to go for another hourlong walk today instead of HIIT, I get the feeling they will still be aching tomorrow too. It's a good feeling though, and motivating me to eat the right food so they will repair. :)

If anyone could help me out with something, I'm trying to get an estimate of my bodyfat level. I bought some electronic calipers and tried both the internal calculator inside and a few internet bodyfat calculators, but I keep getting results of like 7%, which obviously is not right. Either the calipers are fvcked or I'm measuring wrong / with too much pressure.
So I've posted a few pictures here of me taken on camera phone, hopefully someone can give me a close estimate.

I would really like to try and calculate how much fat I have to burn, it will help to motivate me.:woo:

Don't worry, I eat a minimum 200g of protein a day, most of it red meat and eggs.. I have a good feeling that my legs will eat up most of the calories so I burn more fat, or something like that.:nervous:
