Master Don Juan
I've been seeing this girl for almost 5 months now. I care about her. When I care about a girl I really try to take her feelings under consideration, I'm patient, generous, and generally enjoy having her company because I feel she deserves it. I keep my guard up and let things develop as they may.
So it's really crappy when one of her ex-boyfriends goes inside her house, picks up her cellphone, and calls me asking me questions. When I asked him who he was, he says he's her boyfriend Jay.
Really? That's news to me.
Unfortunately, I've been here before. This is ex-boyfriend drama. I mentioned to her when we first started dating that I don't put up with it. That I don't like ex-boyfriends showing up causing commotion and such, just like this. I told her I don't put up with it and she knew it.
She cares about me a lot. Finally after she got back her phone and I told her to explain herself I told her that she knew I didn't deal with this type of nonsense and that she's basically lost my trust. She told me her brother let him in the house. Well, I've met that brother before and it's to me now that he doesn't respect my relationship with his sister. Her problem, not mine.
She said it wasn't her fault, but you can bet that I'd never have an ex-girlfriend in my house.
She told me that he used to do this, before we started dating. But how can I know that he hasn't showed up before and she just hasn't told me? How can I trust her?
So I asked her what she was going to do about this and she said "I don't know, what am I supposed to do?" I told her that typically when someone harasses you like this and they don't listen you file a restraining order. She very quickly said she'd do it... But I countered cynically with "Well, you'd be the first..."
I got off the phone with her crying. I told her to call me when she had this figured out.
Any thoughts?
