I've recently just started working out, so I'd like to post my current workout and see what you guys think (keep in mind this is just the beginning stage)
I do this every other day:
- 25 slow crunches
- 15 slow crunches to left side
- 15 slow crunches to right side
- 2 sets of 12 reps of 20lb dumbell curl in each arm
- 12 reps of 20lb dumbell lift in each arm (don't know what it's called, but I just hold the weight up leveled with my head and lift my arm up)
- 20 inclined pushups (my hands are on a bench, feet on ground)
- 12 reps of "fly" exercise with 20lb dumbells, lying on back on bench
- 12 reps of "bench press" exercise with 20lb dumbells in each hand, where you just simulate a bench press, except with dumbells
This takes about 15 minutes.
On my off days I will just do ab exercises.
And finally, I am on my high school track team, so that helps with cardio-vascular and lower body. The group I'm in on my track team is the sprinting group, so about 85% of the running I do is short-distance, which is good because I've heard it's better for building muscle. I have practice 5 days a week and it's usually about an hour and a half.
So what do you guys think? Any tips you can give me on other exercises I may want to try, or anything else?
