Jal is a Sufi rock band from pakistan, they broke up quite early just as they were getting popular, so they put out very little music, but whatever they made was gold IMO

Most of you might not understand the lyrics since its in urdu, but their music got a great 'feel', soulful is the word I'd use.

You can download their music from *****, or their page http://www.jaltheband.com/ ,

I recommend this band to people who are into rock, get the song Aadat for starters & this is coming from a guy who lives in India :D

sage, are u pakistani?? how come u know about Jal?? n i m living and breathing the jal story, cuz i am a Pakistani, and its a VERY hot story over here. n i wanna repeat this story on thsi forum.

Jal teh band launched its first ever saong "Aadat" ("Habit") on internet. it gained a hell lot of popularity, ppl went crazy for the music. the band comprised of two guyz, Atif Aslam(vocals) and Gohar Mumtaz(guitars). they launched a pretty decent viodeo of Aadat, which also gained populairity. then suddenly the band broke up soon after their first video. atif and gohar both blamed each other for a while. tehy both raced to launch their respective albums. atif won n launched his album by the name of "Jalpari" ("Mermaid"). amazing album.

in the meanwhile, gohar refomed "Jal" adding a vocalist (farhan) and a bassist (Shazi). they launched tehir album by teh name of "Aadat". Atif filed a lawsuit againt the band n siad that they cant use the name "Jal".

after the launch of teh album "Aadat", pakistani music fans divided into "Atif-fans" and "Gohar-fans" , n they both keep debating on who's better. i m personally an atif-fan. yes' jal's music is good, but i liek atif more than jal. his voice is so goood!!! if u want to listen to jal's music, i wud recommend u guyz to try Atif as well. n everybody agrees that the biggest reason for Aadat (song) success was atif's magical voice.

here are some links for downloads:
