hey guys, dammm it, i've always wondered this and have spoken to so many women about this. Why do alot of women find themselves attracted to men with muscles.

the usual answer is that they find it appealing, the muscles feel nice and firm in bed, they feel secure. But then many women have been turned off with men with muscles. There is actually a larger portion of women out there in the world that prefer there men with not much muscle, im not saying totally skinny to the extent of skelton bones, no far far from that more along the lines of just right for their height and looks average.

Now problem is women can't seem to define average to well :) they tend to look at a guy visually and can say to you "look that over there", "his build is good, it suits his height and hes not to much". but yet sometimes you catch them staring at this guy that has a body of a bodybuilder almost lol, or is that them just fantasizing now and gaain lol.

So is there a true answer to does muscle size attract women? the truth is there is no realy true answer, the biggest muscle in the human body is the brain work on that more and whatch women become attracted to you more. :)

Yes they are, but there is a limit. Very few women like bona fide bodybuilders. But, all other things being equal, a guy with muscle is going to win over a guy with no muscle. Do a search there are a million threads on this.

Be in shape with little fat. Definition more than size. Being huge and muscular is a turnoff with a lot of women, indicates vanity. On the other hand being in shape and proportional indicates you care about your appearance without the gym being your sole purpose in life, such as it is for bodybuilders.

I read somewhere once that it is about 50/50 in regard to whether women prefer being bulky or being toned. There was some variation from the 50/50 when the researchers compared preference with socioeconomic class in that women with advanced college degrees preferred toned men something like 60/40, and it was the other way for women of lower income and education who preferred bulky guys by the same 60/40 margin.

It can be true in some cases. I am an MMA fighter and i fight at 185 lbs,but i usually walk around at 193 lbs or so, and i am 6 3. my legs are huge but my upper body is lean and has to stay that way so physically i dont look that impressive and i am sometimes frustrated by not being able to allow myself to bulk up more. But at the end of the day if you carry yourself the right way you can definitly win more often than someone who is jacked but insecure and clueless with women.

Rule of thumb is bulk if covered (i.e. shirt on), definition if not (shirt off). Just get big with low bodyfat anyways, you'll feel better about yourself and it means you're taking care of yourself.

Men frequently err by talking too much. They often monopolize conversations, droning on and on about topics that bore women to tears. They think they're impressing the women when, in reality, they're depressing the women.

My personal observation after starting strenght training is that women are atracted just as much to the secondary effects you get from strenght training.

From strenght training you get bigger muscles but you also get more T, a stronger willpower and even a more dominant behavior, regardless of how big you are. So when you try to get bigger muscles you are at the same time gaining other qualities that women also like.

It all comes down to a matter of preference, what one girl likes another might not, and lets not forget how you talk to her and act is a much more important factor to if shes going to like you, lets not assume they think the same as us (as in see a good rack and nice bum and we're good to go).

A far more interesting topic of conversation is how the girls react to you, i've been on both sides of the fence so ill share my experiences.

Currently i sit at around 220 lb at 5'10 and ive been training with weights for the last 8 years. I'm not lean but dont have a gut either, just 'bulky'. What i find is women are generally more intimidated by you, and especially at a night club their is an expectation that you will be doing all the initiating. Guys, especially when drunk, tend to suck up to you alot and bouncers you will find are friendlier, which is good for social value.

However i remember when i was leaner i found myself picking up more for a number of reasons. Mainly because you feel better, the chick might not see your 6 pack but you know you have one and that gives confidence, as well as a leaner face is more attractive to women. To get lean you have to be eating alot cleaner and doing more cardio which again is going to make you feel better and give you that energy which they find attractive.

This is just what ive found and would be interested to hear other peoples experiences with it as well.

According to the BMI charts, that gives you a BMI of 31.6, which is considered obese.

The problem I have with BMI charts is they fail to take into account whether the extra weight is fat or muscle. A guy who lifts is going to weigh more. Also, apparently these charts originated in the late 1800s, so we're being compared to civil war era people.

My own opinion is that insurance companies are behind pushing the BMI charts, and that one day in the not so distant future our health insurance rates are going to be tied in to your weight. If they use these outdated charts, then more people will be listed as overweight, and more people will have to pay higher rates. Call me paranoid if you must.

Of course, you could argue that it is not healthy to carry the extra weight, whether it's muscle or fat.

The thing is, for me to fit into what the BMI charts want me to weigh, I would have to weigh what I did in high school. And I was a puny skinny stick, and I never touched weights until I got into my 20s. That doesn't seem realistic to me, or even desireable from my point of view.

When you put bruce lee physique against arnold on the street and watch how women react, you will see the truth.

Guys who say that 'it is a matter of preference' are:

1. In denial
2. Wrong

Are you saying they would all go for Arnold? I'm not so sure about that. I imagine most women would find both those guys' physiques impressive. Anyway, I can't imagine two more different examples than Bruce Lee and Arnold. Surely there would be more than enough women for both of them?

By the way, this reminds me of another thread on here. This guy claims to get hit on every day even though he has never been in a gym. And then I told a story of this guy I know who women found attractive even though he's short, skinny, and wears glasses.
Here's the thread if you're curious:

But look carefully at the situation i presented.

If we put a 200 pound WWE wrestler against a regular 155 olympic marathon runner physique, and we judge the instinctive reactions of women, do you how they would react?

We are discussing a science of human behavior here, we must think scientifically. You design an experiment and make a conclusion. Saying you know guys that are exceptions or making assumptions based on self beliefs is not on.

I'm saying take that same skinny guy that you know and put a beefed up bulging version of him, and gauge the initial reactions of women.

If you dont already know this, watch carefully the next time you see it happen. It is basically an instinctive female reaction to be attracted to muscular guys, the same with famous, the same with tall.

This is the problem with the looks discussion. A guy is suddenly not so ugly if his biceps are the size of his head. Does arnold really have a good face? If he was fat and short, would he really still be attractive at all?

It's an interesting question, but I don't think I would call Bruce Lee a "skinny guy". He's incredibly fit, with a lot of muscle definition. I still think both guys would get a lot of play.

In my experience, different women have different preferences. My fiance says that after dating me, she could never go back to "regular guys"... I also know other attractive women that don't like muscular builds for whatever reason. Very few women though do find the giant IFBB pro bodybuilder look attractive.

I have a few years experience as a male entertainer. I've done hundreds of revues/stagettes and entertained thousands of females. In my experience the following features are universally attractive, at least in the world of stripping:

* Height. (> 6 feet)
* Leanness/body composition (have a 6 or 8 pack and visible striations)
* V-taper and symmetry.
* Have adequate muscular size.
* Good/clear skin/complexion.

If you want examples of the kind of guys I'm talking about you can check out:

http://canadianplayboyz.com/cme3.php

I'm Trey Stylz on that site... I dont' dance anymore but they left my pic up.

I'm only 5'8" and I danced at around 165, but because I was lean and had decent shape and adequate size I did okay.

I think its evolutionarily favorable for women to be attracted to guys with the above mentioned qualities, as these qualities resonate strength, health, and ability to provide. In short they mean that the dude has good genetics and is likely gonna be a good provider.

Zekko, I'm currently sitting at 5'8" between 185 and 190 lbs. This means my BMI is like > 28, or overweight. I just had my bodyfat tested a couple of days ago with calipers and I'm apparently at 12-13%. As Jax kinda said, BMI is not really applicable to athletes and other individuals who carry a lot more muscle than your average dude.

From what I know Bruce Lee actually was into bodybuilding big time! He had some uncanny physical abilities... I think he was only around 160 at 5'7" but dude was a freak.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bruce_lee#Physical_fitness

If you're 5'7 - 160 w/ really low body fat (single digits)... then that's actually still pretty big compared to the average dude.

I'm about the same height & weight as Fug, but with higher BF% (17~18, I think). Cougars and certain girls just could not help their hands on my shoulders, arms, chest etc. As soon as I say, for example, I have a sore shoulder, there'll be one of them rushing to give me a massage and somehow one hand will end up on my chest :p. Will be interesting to see what happens when I lean down over the next few months. In long term, I plan to be between 180~185lbs <14% BF, mostly for my powerlifting comps (83kg class).

Channel your excited feelings into positive thoughts and behaviors. You will attract women by being enthusiastic, radiating energy, and becoming someone who is fun to be around.
