I went out and picked up Halo 3 and Tomb Raider: Anniversary. I know Halo is off the chain and the original Tomb Raider is still the best gaming experience I've ever had but my question to you brothers is this: Have you had any issues with your Xbox with latency or performance and do you have any suggestions for keeping my Xbox tip top?

Also, games. I'm salivating for Mass Effect and Jericho looks pretty good, though the reviews have massacred it. What other must have games are out there? Assassins Creed reviews have sucked so I passed. I read the TeamXbox forums regularly but I'm eager to know what you brothers opinions are.

I passed on the PS3 because Blu-ray is so fvcking expensive and would render my collection of 3000 plus burned dvd's null. Perhaps in the future when the PS3 is $199 I'll bite but not yet.

You have a chipped xbox and using DVDRs, right?


XBOX sometimes would read slow the burned media and you'd get a slow game play, crawling.. Get new media or reburn it, or put game on hard drive.

Friend of mine is in the army and said that it is the most realistic video game out there.

I got The Orange Box and its really fun. It's got Half-Life 2, HL2: Episodes One and Two, Team Fortress (this one isnt too good), and Portals. Portals would have to be one of the most addicting games I've ever played and if you haven't heard about it Google that **** cause I guarantee generations of games to follow will copy the idea.

Yeah definitely go for Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. Also, Asassin's Creed is AWESOME trust me on this because I've played it. Plus, on gamespot.com the average user rating for it is 9/10. I haven't played it, but BioShock is supposed to be a good one and you should also check out The Darkness, I had a lot of fun with that one.

other decent ones ive heard are halo 3, bioshock and mass effects(lots of talking tho, deep story). assassins creed is just repetitive as fvck and no multiplayer.

Halo 3 and Maddens are good. Assassins Creed isn't that bad. Pretty repetitive but something entertaining if you just want to rent for a few days.

Anyway to answer your questions if your internet connection is great yet you experience latency on Xbox Live well thats just a problem on Xbox Live's end as well as the horrible connections of other players or you may be playing people in other countries.

As for keeping the 360 in tip top shape well its inherintely flawed in design because it overheats and something gets loose inside of it and you get the three red lights of death.

I've got this twice, once was covered by the warranty I bought for the thing and the second time it was covered by the Microsoft warranty they've put out specifically for the three red lights of death problem because they are covering their own ass in fear of massive class action lawsuits if they don't.

The only thing you can do to try and prevent the 360 from overheating or breaking down in general is to keep it on a flat non carpeting surface like a hardwood floor or something with no obstructions behind it like a wall or anything at all that blocks the vents in at least a 2 or 3ft radius.

Even doing all this though you can still get the three red lights of death but it may prevent it as well so you might as well do this if possible.

You know, you're right. However, I do give credence when more than one reviewer basically say the same thing. That the game has lackluster combat and is very very short.

I'll rent it but I won't plunk down $60.

Ok. Halo 3 is the sh!t. TR:Anniversary is good too. The only problem with it is the combat system is spotty. Graphically it's a gem.

I've played Elder Scrolls for pc for awhile and it was fun but repetitive. Is the Xbox version better control wise?
