I was once there too. 80-90lbs overweight, looked terrible, felt terrible. Finally broke up with my girl that I was dating and decided I needed a change. This was around 3.5 years ago. I was weighing 300 lbs and started back light at the gym. It was hard.
Prior to me being McCaulay bulkin I was athletic, in shape, played multiple sports, etc. wound up in a bad relationship and it went down hill from there.
Anyways, I started going to the gym, didn't go too heavy and didn't even diet. I saw massive improvements. Within a year I was down to 250lbs. My gains started dwindling and decided I needed to change something up. Added in cardio, some high intensity workouts and even more weight started to drop. Over the next year or so I was weighing roughly 225-230 lbs.
Finally decided it was time to dial in my diet and become the man I wanted to be. Over the last 6-8 months I have been quite consistent as far as what I needed to put in my body for optimal nutrition and weight loss. I'm currently weighing 220 lbs and admittedly still have a little ways to go to finish up on the six pack.
I guess the main thing I really wanted to say is that you need to stay consistent with what you want. Don't give up on your goals, this includes everything in your life. Yes it was hard, but it was damn worth it. I get looks every single day from women and the men in the gym envy me. If only they knew what I looked like just under 4 years ago. No one would bat an eye in my direction. Now I get respect from coworkers, family members, women, men - in any social circumstance.
If my fat arse at 300 lbs could do it while working 84 hours a week, you can to. Give up on the excuses, fight the anxiety, and become a better you.
Here is a before and after, can post more in between if requested.
