I know this has been said before on here and we hear women say all the time that shoes are important to them but I never really gave it the thought that it deserved and it's so true.
Not that everything else should be ignored but women notice shoes first. I never wear particularly bad shoes but I had been rocking a couple of very basic flat black shoes for a long time. Decided to change things up and get a couple new pairs to keep really nice and only wear when I'm out being social.

holy cow....it's absolutely ridiculous how effective having clean, stylish shoes are. I really never paid attention to it before this little experiment but If I were to quantify my findings this last week I'd say that I've gotten a good 25 - 30% increase in positive signals from women that I've noticed checking my feet.

I've been preaching this for years and I usually get, "Uh, OK Atom, whatever you say...".

Most men seem to be completely unaware of this phenomenon. A woman will first look at your face, and then your shoes. The shoes tell the story for her, and many men get rejected simply for bad shoes. You align many things in your favor when you wear clean, attractive shoes.

If she gaf what I wear, I aint interested in her. She wants me because of what I am, what I know and what I can do, or she can keep on looking. Anybody can put on shoes or clothes. BFD.

Judging by your articulation I highly recommend you go out and buy a good pair of shoes.

I can personally attest to this. Got an expensive pair ($115; for myself though, could give a fvck about how they elevate my game) last week. First few days I got a lot of compliments on them. I noticed one girl looking me up from bottom to top within the first few seconds of walking by her.

Then this girl who is something of a plate "just so happened" to notice my new shoes were better looking than my old pair within a day or two of getting them. Unrelated but I learned two things that day: 1) Your "fate" with any girl is usually decided within the first few minutes of seeing them. All the more reason to approach though. And 2) Women are really subtle about checking guys out. I never realized that until last week.

A guy who can dress better than his competition is a threat to be recognized.

So true. Shoes = outfit.

I started wearing nice shoes (vans & converse) at the end of hs. I'm in my 1st year of college tho and i realize vans are more childish and for hslers, so I'm trying to transition to more adult shoes.

Where do u guys usually buy your shoes for cheap?

I'm talking shoes like these:
http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/men/shoes/sneakers/95146095-karita/28
http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/men/shoes/sneakers/94993081-estmond/1
http://www.aldoshoes.com/us/men/shoes/sneakers/93493579-craeddi/28

but I don't want to pay $100 for ****ing shoes.

Edit:
Post a pic of the new shoes you bought :DD

if you're looking at Aldo for a casual shoe I would suggest something like this:

....or spend a little more $$ and get something like this:

For a nicer night I'd go with something like this -with a dark wash boot cut jean:

It's really simple and relatively cheap for shoes.

They don't really have to be expensive - just clean and stylish. I usually go for simple - but that's just my style. Point is, a great personality may never have a chance to shine because women qualify men by checking out the details. You wouldn't let a woman come to your house with it dirty or if the bathroom has some shaving stubble on the countertop. You wouldn't drive her around if your car is a mess....
and ideally - your house isn't ever a mess and neither is your car. You make sure that your fingernails don't look like you're growing them out for halloween.....the devil is in the details and these are quick things that women check for to see just how on top of your Sh*t you really are....and the shoes are the first indicator.
..oh..and yah, ditch the Vans....keep the converse though. Just don't make them your regular shoe. Converse are timeless and if they look nice, it's a good twist to throw in the mix.

Ive thought of this too, but When I go out to bars I see all kinds of shoes on guys and I can't tell which ones are the "stylish" ones I should get. Mine almost look like low top brown "hiking" shoes haha. What are the stylish shoes?

You shouldn't necessarily be looking for shoes that "stylish" so much as shoes that fit YOUR STYLE.
If your style is rugged/outdoors - don't go wearing boots around all the time - but find a few pair of shoes suitable for different occasions that reflect that ruggedness - go for earthtones and simple designs.

Style can be anything. New & clean is what pleases the female eye.

My personal preference on shoes are ones like these

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ikon-Auckla...8&qid=1368057774&sr=1-2&keywords=ikon+leather

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Ikon-Stardu...8&qid=1368057774&sr=1-3&keywords=ikon+leather

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Hampton-Iko...&qid=1368057774&sr=1-24&keywords=ikon+leather
(these ones are especially eye-catching ;) )

They're all quite smart looking but put with a pair of Levi's and you have a really smart casual looking going on, or bust them out with chino's and a polo is a personal preference.

If you want to really up the ante then a slim fit dress shirt, jeans/chinos and shoes like this you'll be dressed to the nines.

I love those shoes. Can't seem to find them on the US amazon site though.

I have to agree with this. I've had so many comments from people (guys as well as girls) about my shoes.

I also love the sound of a decent pair of shoes when you walk!
