I have found something more effective then clearasil or any of these soaps which claim to get rid of acne. Infact it is more effective then the antibiotics i was prescirbed by my GP a few years ago when things got real bad. The only reason i used this soap was as a substitute because i ran out of clearasil. You might be wondering what this magic soap is. Its just a standard bar of soap, and its done wonders! Probably something to do with the fact that it makes you skin feel dry straight after using it.

On of the big things is, no matter how bad you think your pimple looks nows, don't pick it, it will only look worse, and for longer.

When my skin was dry, I didn't have the urge to touch my face and complain about the greasy feeling to myself. I helped me keep my hands away from any rubbing or picking that alpha males stay away from...

I'll tell you what worked for me and thats proactiv. I had bad flare ups a while back and I would sit and watch those comercials on tv but i thought it was too good to be true. But i'll tell you, that stuff really works.

I had to stop using it for a day or two because it would dry my skin out so much. But it seriously made my face look a LOT better in less than a week.
I have oily skin too and this makes it not as bad.

Different things work for different people. Hopefully your soap will keep working for you. What kind/brand of soap is it?

Nature's Cure is awesome. It's expensive $10 but it WORKS much better than anything I've ever used: Clearasil, Neutrogena, etc.

Sarge On...

I don't know about that.

Aparrantly its scientifically proved that chocolate does not cause spots....

but whenever i've binged on a bit of chocolate, a few days later I will flare up.

Science is never 100% correct, its only correct until the next theory disproves it.

Personally, when my diet is good, I don't get many spots, but when its bad i flare up.

When you over-dry your skin, as a sort of defense mechanism, your skin produces more oil. Your "regular soap idea" might work, but it could easily dry out your skin. If you really want to do something healthy for your skin, then use Dove moisturizing soap twice on your face, not any more. It will moisturize your skin, and prevent it from producing any extra oil. This will not make your face oilier, unless you rub your face every ten minutes to check if it's oily.

I've heard that water and diet have a great effect on acne. I don't think this is necessarily true, but they are very good habits nonetheless. I know that it's getting to the time of year where getting outside (in the sunlight) helps acne greatly.

hope that helps

Drink Plenty of water, get plenty of exercise and sleep and DONT deprive yourself of the food that you enjoy.

Specific foods generally don't affect acne, but overall diet is a factor. If all you eat is fast food, you can expect acne to get worse. Certain nutrient deficiencies can also affect acne. Caffiene in coffee and soda, and hormones in milk and dairy can cause breakouts.

It's a complicated problem.

In hell. I'm Satan's lover.
Try ice, put it in those little plastic bags and ice your acne. Sounds stupid but it compleatly saved me, try it before you claim I am a noobcake! It reduces swelling a lot, just don't keep it on too long. My derma actually gave this to me.
