So when "iluvd!ck69" posts nothing but links to tubgirl, we should send them a PM saying;

"Excuse me iluv, but your posts are unsuitable for this forum. They have been deleted. Please be better in the future.

- TheVirtualMind"

?

Besides, we do that anyway to posts that are questionable. Otherwise, posts that don't need explanation ("Sosuave sucks d!ck" ring a bell to anyone?) are just ninajed.

No VirtualMind, Its when my valid post in STR8UP's guide to riches gets deleted we should be asking questions.

I just checked the list of any actions taken on "STR8UP's beginners guide to becoming WEALTHY". It hasn't been touched (no replies have been deleted, it hasn't been moved, closed, etc etc). It may be an issue with your computer or the server; I don't think any moderator is bored enough to go around arbitrarily deleting random posts for no good reason.

As for sending a PM to people every time their thread is closed or deleted, it would be more time consuming than you'd imagine. It takes enough time for me to include a link to a results page every time I close a thread by saying "try a search, please" (after doing a search for them)... if people can't follow the directions under the stickied thread titled "Read this BEFORE posting or your thread may be deleted!" then they shouldn't be shocked when lo and behold their thread is gone. Most deleted threads were deleted for a reason, anyway - either they asked a question that had been answered a million times before (i.e. "How long should I wait to call her?", "What should I do on our date?") or they appeared to have been written by a person in the 3rd grade (i.e. "If a girl wears nice clothes does it mean she's a golddigger?" - an actual thread I deleted earlier today..). Generally speaking, the threads that (I) delete are short, stupid, inappropriate, or just plain mindless. Oh, or they're one sentence threads - but a pretty good guideline for what gets deleted is already laid out in the thread I mentioned that's stickied at the top of DJ Discussion.

I think Diablo does more in the way of explaining why thread actions have been taken than most other moderators.
Technically, no moderator has to do this, but it helps to dispel notions of arbitrariness and enhances the community by illustrating what to do and not do in a thread.

Just to back up what Diablo said The Mods are empowered to delete any thread that they feel do not contribute to the ongoing discussion.

That is not to say that threads or topics are arbitrarily deleted. Sometimes unbeknownst to the community posts are discussed and debated before deletion. I have deleted many threads over the last 4 years and on retrospect I would not restore any one of them.

There have been so many complaints about bad threads. It's usually the trolls who cry out when their threads are deleted.

Make good posts and DJ's will read and respect them. Write quality posts and make it into the DJ Bible. Write poor posts and they will be deleted (for the sake of the DJ community).

My post was about a dj article recently in a rather upscale mag. I can't see the harm in that...if any thing it adds value to the board

If highplanes and godsgift want to pm me, I will tell then where to find the article...I found it quite interesting.

Obvioulsy, the moderators could care less about listening to our side about making the board better. I think the use of "troll" is rather insipid and demeaning term to be used by a "dj"... I will let that speak for itself.

Good day gents.

From this point on, threads lacking details, mainly those with only 1-2 sentences in the body, will be deleted as soon as a moderator comes across them
If your thread simply has a link and some generic message body like "discuss this article", it obviously doesn't mean a whole lot to you - or you would have told us more about it. If you can't even give a good opinion on it how do you expect others to? While I don't recall the particular thread in question, I would be highly doubtful that a thread containing a link in which the poster discussed what his views were on the article in question would be deleted.

Good day gents.

Like I said before. Some people (insert name here) post because they seek attention.

If you are not a troll or trolling then you should ignore this entire thread. If you are trolling then of course you reply to get the attention that you are not getting in the real world.

A thread complaining about moderators?

How inspired and original!

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Quote taken from The SoSuave Guide to Women and Dating, which you can read for FREE.

actually, this is not what this thread is about at all. Please go back and reread the first initial post.

I think Diablo did a fine job illuminating the mods position.

However, if you have nothing better to do on my threads than misinterpret my operandi and try to start an arguement with me-whilst hurling immature comments like this-A true dj should have better things to do. I ask that-for your own good-please don't post unless you add can something of value to my threads.

Besides Giovini-I refuse to attack those that cannot defend themselves. Peace.

Good day gents!

Ok, well since your initial question has been answered then I'll just close this thread.
