MO For Foreign Speaking Gals?

Just wondering what is the MO for foreign girls?
I run into very many very hot European girls often, but they are the very hardest to talk to. I am starting to think it's embarrasment on their part for not knowing the American language, but they come off as very haughty.
Anyone know of any tips for dealing with the obvious language chasm?
Or is it a lost cause?

This is a problem, if you are trying to build attraction with jokes or use words or phrases that are beyond basic English or are specific to your country, they may not understand.

I once said to a Polish girl I was pulling her leg but she did not quite get what I was saying, so it is probably easier to go for girls that speak your language.

I'm sure there are better methods that would work on girls that don't speak the same language as you though.
