Does anyone compete in MMA? I want to compete in UFC/K-1/etcetc, can anyone give me a pointer?

I plan on fighting when I'm 19, as of nothing I have nearly nothing.
I have seen a couple of fighters fight when they're in the prime 21 or such, I want to be able to at least fight in featherweight if not lightweight.

Thanks.

You need to weigh at least 100kgs, not much fat, much muscle. You have to start training, 6 hours a day, 6days a week. Boxing, Thai boxing, grappling, weight lifting. Adopt a very efficiant diet. Check if there are local K-1 or UFC qualifications in your area.

Let's address the issue one at a time, I'm very serious about this.

100kgs is how many pound?
I lift weight in fact.

Check a local UFC qualification? I'm very interested. Hm... how about one in NY.

I think its about 160 pounds, Im not sure though. The thing just is that you have to be huge. Look at people like Mirco Filipovic or Francesco Filho.

I dont know if theres one in NY. I know there was a K-1 quali near where I live some time ago.

I doubt it, but I know there are definitely divisions in UFC, I believe 6 divisions. I really want to fight in UFC featherweight if possible.

100 kg is 220lbs. You dont need to weigh that much if you want to compete.

K-1 is specifically stand-up fighting.

UFC is all out.

UFC use to only have one divison so we could see if a 100 pound ninja could beat up a 400 pound sumo. Once training routines were perfected and everyone was becoming an all around excellant fighter they had to seperate the weight classes.

These are the UFC divisions. k-1 is only one weight I think. I'd only do this unless I was huge, considering Bob Sapp and Gary Goodridge compete in it regularlly, and they are big mother ****ers. :)

Flyweight
under 125 pounds

Bantamweight
125-134.9

Featherweight
135-144.9

Lightweight
145-154.9 (Jens Pulver )

Welterweight
155-169.9 (Carlos Newton)

Middleweight
170-184.9 (Title Open)

Light Heavyweight
185-204.9 (Tito Ortiz)

Heavyweight
205-264.9 (Randy Couture)

Super Heavyweight
over 265

ok... retards....

go here.. www.sherdog.com

read...ask ?'s.... you'll prob have to join a gym and they will put you up for events and what not.... you can't just sign a waiver and hop in the cage... doesn't happen anymore.. way too much liability... you need to be affiliated with some kind of training facility... a boxing gym, MMA or jujutsu dojo gearedf toward cage fighting. When you advance to a certain level with the school they will ask you if you want to compete.

and drop that "I only train in striking" crap... if you do that you will get owned by a yellow belt jujutsu-ka... you need MIXED MARTIAL ARTS training... you can specialize in striking or grappling but you must be well versed in both to survive.

Best

I agree with the rest, you just didn't need to go "ok retards". I can probably kick your ass with prior no training but experience.
So don't act like you're stronger than all of us.
