God damn, do I love minimalism. Every time I apply it to my life, it gets better. I have never regretted downsizing and simplifying, not once.

Housing - check
Investing -check
Transport - check
Clothing - check
Food - check
Exercise - check

So what's next, hmmm?

If you were going to "minimalise" your Game, how would you do it, what would you give up?

The minimalist approach is all about efficiency and getting the most out of your time and energy.

I've been using a minimalist approach to meeting women and spinning plates for a while now. It helps that I live near downtown in the city and can walk to bars, restaurants, transportation and entertainment too. Another benefit is it puts women to work. The more they invest the better.

The minimalist cold approach:

ME: Hey, hows it going?
HER: Fine, you?
ME: Great. Whats your name?
HER: Blah, blah, blah
ME: I think you're cute [insert name].
HER: (this response will vary from woman to woman. If her response is friendly I keep gaming. If she is a b!tch I abort)
ME: Are you visiting the city or do you live here? (very important question)
HER: Blah, blah, blah
ME: Lets keep in touch. Give me your phone number.

This conversation takes 30 seconds to 2 minutes on average.

Yes goddamn it, I need to minimalise my dates. Less time, less energy, less planning, and less money, i.e. we're going for a walk, or she can tag along on something I wanted to do anyway.

Ugh, this must have been covered like a million times in the DJ Bible and main forum - mission creep is a b*tch!

Hey corrector, nice find there - it didn't even cross my mind to see if any manosphere bloggers had written about the idea. Skimmed through a few of Aaron's posts, liked what I found.

The point of the thread was to start a discussion about how the general idea of minimalism can be applied to Game.

I'm thinking of the Pareto Principle here - the idea that 80% of your results come from only 20% of your actions. What are you left with once you strip away the non-essential fluff?

That sounds interesting. So what is the 20% of actions?

Alright, let's do it. The thing with minimalism is that you can't usually identify that magical 20% straight away, it's far easier to identify the 80% that isn't really working, and whatever you're left with.... you get the idea.

The 80%

Clothes - beyond a very basic level of effort, I've never found them to have much of an impact on how things turn out. Something I used to put far too much focus on.

Working out - look, I'd love to believe there's a linear return on investment here, but once you're in "reasonable" shape the benefits really seem to tail off.

Second dates - as in a date-date, as opposed to an extremely obvious pretense to hook up. Second "dates" have overwhelmingly been a waste of time.

Sense of humour - I used to think this was everything, but I was wrong. Another law of diminishing returns when it comes to seduction - a little goes a long way.

The 20%

Conversational skills - one thing I do really well is turn small talk into something real and intimate and unexpected. That has been huge for me over the years.

Audacity - big risk equals big rewards in my mind, whether it's an over the top joke about anal on the first date, or calling out a sh!t-test to her face. Every time I think I might have overreached I find myself thinking "I can't believe that actually worked".

What's your own 80/20 SoSuave?

With me it's about being a regular and minimising over head. Every second Sunday I go down and buy my fruit and veg at the local market and grab some breakfast. It's in the grounds of the university so it's also where I go to practice my motorbike riding. They have French crepes and some small lakes to walk around so it's a great date venue.

So the formula is think about things you do regularly anyway find a good place locally to do them at and become a regular. This means you can drop girls into your current activities easily and you've got the social proof established already.

Dude, I think that is solid AF. I have always secretly hated the idea of deliberately "going out to pick up". You could almost describe your style as "incidental" or "accidental game".

I remember when something similar backfired on me:) I was a regular at a stand-up comedy club a few years ago (patron not performer), I had a great relationship with the staff and some of the talent - so I figured hey, let's leverage some of that social proof! And yeah, a couple of times it worked really nicely.

Except there was this one girl who I'd previously written off for being a pill-popper. It's Friday night, some other plans fall through and she messages me out of the blue. Fvck it, let's roll the dice, I'll meet you at my comedy-joint. Ho-lee-fark. What a disaster. She made a total arse of herself at the bar, ruined one guy's set, and I abandoned her mid-date without a word - just got up and left. Didn't show my face there for about six months!
