Hey there,

Yesterday I planned a poker party at my house (mainly guys with a couple girls that wanted to come). All was well until about 9:30 when I called the last three guys (would of made 7 or 8 players) and they said they'd play but then cancelled because they wanted to watch a movie, so I stayed home.

Tonight I sort of planned a mini-party (about 7-10 people; mainly girls and a few guys) but I don't think I want to worry about watching people and making sure they don't steal/break anything. Any ways to back out of it or if not any tips for holding a sucessful B.Y.O.B. party (even if it's small)? I'd just say I don't want it but I'm beginning to think it looks like I'm crying wolf by saying I'll have a party then it doesn't happen twice.

There's really no reason that you should cancel... with so few people, it really isn't likely that you'll have any problems on your hands. 10 people isn't that bad at all.

Though... if you're really set on canceling, just say that your parents have changed plans and that they're going to be home. That should do nicely, depending on where your parents actually are.

The adults are down state (a good 5+ hours away), but we never use the garage so you could tell if they were back or not by their vehicle being in the driveway.

I have about 6 girls that want to go, but I can only find a couple guys who arn't busy so I feel like I'd have to entertain way too many females with no guys to assist me.

I'm more in the mood for say a card game or two seeing I have to wake up early for work tomorrow so I can't drink too much. But if I play cards the girls will have nothing to do. They always say don't worry about entertaining anyone, but I don't anyone to get bored.

Just as I figured, the girls got too drunk fo their own good and I spent the night baby-sitting. Oh well still a fun night.
