They pretty much say that a calcium deficency will hinder fat loss. Then they go on to say that you should have low fat dairy products to get your calcium because they "have more vitamins and minerals".

So, pretty much, you will get the same effect by supplementing calcium and a multivitamin.

I don't like to waist my calories with milk, I would rather fill them up with meat, fish, or poultry.

yeah i noticed that part too. Seems that the main reason they dont suggest the calcium supplements is due to the lack of the vitamins that milk contains.

But still an interesting perspective nonetheless..

I like reading poeple opinion's on here, helps to form a somewhat educated one. (sometimes)

Keep debating:D

The calories and carbs keep me away from milk but I eat most of its derivatives... lowfat yogurt, cottage cheese... they have much longer protein chains anyway. I get my A and D vits from plenty of other sources, like Cod Liver Oil, so no worries there.

On a side note, calcium is pretty useful to the body as a whole. Calcium pectate in crispy vegetables help to reduce serum cholesterol.

Skim or 1% milk is the way to go.

It's high in protien and far better to make protien shakes with than water.

I've found the beneifts are great though not sure about making me losing weight because I'm bulking right now and have gain 8 pounds of muscle.

Milk is gay!

You don't need milk or any dairy products to be healthy. The only reason all you people drink milk is because dairy advertising agencies push the "Got Milk?" commercials. There is no reason at all to eat dairy products.

Do an internet search and you will realize that nobody needs to eat dairy products to be healthy. You people believe that you need them because you see all of the milk and cheese commercials on TV that promote the products. It says that they are a good source of calcium, which is true, but you can make claims like that about any food product. Everybody that eats dairy products is a victim to the dairy industry and its commercials.

Go ahead... give them some more money.

I eat meat and drink water. If I want a protein drink, then I make a protein shake.
