I'm sure Gaylan is applauding this. I never thought I'd see this day. Someone with elite military service, tell me, PLEASE tell me....that there are more elite units popping up out there somewhere. Something like the Rangers for Rangers.“I have as many mixed emotions about that as one can have,” said retired Lt. Col. Jim Tucker, who was commander of the Florida Ranger school from 1969 to 1971 and who is a member of the Army Ranger Hall of Fame.
“I want it to happen, but I don't want it to hurt the Ranger course,” he added.
Tucker believes that the physical demands of Ranger training and the environment the students must endure would be “debasing” to women.
“I hate that we have to go through this,” he said. “None of us will come out for the better, and we'll all pay a price in the long run.”
