Do I have a problem if i try to be alpha male/overly confident/metrosexual by taking care of myself WAY too much in hopes of being "good looking"?

the weird thing is, i dont feel good looking. I have a girlfriend who likes me for the past 10 months but i feel like no one else thinks i look good. I work for a modeling company which hired me and i dont pay anything, i just get paid.

i have some self esteem issues too...

before i was depressed as hell (one end of the spectrum) and now i "am" or am pretending to have high self esteem where some people think im overly confident or "****y"(other end of the spectrum!)

i dont even know WHAT my personality is anymore! maybe i should take medication or something, im seriously ****ked up in the head right now...

What the fukkkkkkkkkk....

What is with all this obsession with Metrosexuals? Damn, all you people getting worked up over something that you probably wont see much of...I knew people I used to talk to that were metro, and people used to call them gay and whatnot, but who cares? Its like alot of people in here are either intimidated by them or scared of being called one...Just do your fukking thing and shut up...And as far as you people asking if youre metro or not, if you know anything, you should know whats acceptable and when you cross the line...Ok, im done ranting now have a good day...

yea, i don't understand why people make such a big deal about being metrosexual. look, i used to dress like a typcial "guy" - i would wear stained jeans, worn out nikes, and team-oriented shirts. this was back in high school.

once i got into college and then graduated, i realized that if you want to be taken seriously, you need to dress and act seriously. if you are gonna dress like a slob, or like some people like to refer to as "dresing like a masculine man", people will regard you and treat you like a slob, even if you aren't one.

on the other hand, if you start wearing fashionable clothes, if your clothes match, you wear nice jewelry, have a nice haircut, etc., the image you project is that you have your shyt in order and people will tend to take you more seriously. so, in the end, i think it depends on how you want to be regarded.

if somebody is gonna refer to me as "gay", because i wear kenneth cole, dkny, have 5 pairs of black shoes, etc., so be it. i will tell you that i get more azz now, with the way i dress, than i ever did when i dressed like a "typical, sloppy guy".

and the other thing i have noticed too, is that most guys are the ones who are so fixated on metrosexuals. i have found that girls enjoy guys with style. they can relate better and many women are more impressed by guys with style -- it creates mystery, in addition to the fact that you look like you have money and are important. to me, it seems the whole "metrosexual" term has been coined by jealous guys with shytty jobs and no futures, to try and play down the success of the young and successful professional.

as far as going "too far", when you start running out and getting manicures and pedicures, or when you start daydreaming about ramming guys in the bung, they it may be time to question your sexuality. until then, go stylish and be proud of it. u will prob be getting more ass while dressing like a "queer" than the straight, sloppy looking guys who are insulting you.

Like I said in the last post, "metrosexual" is nothing more than an excuse for those who are too lazy/apathetic to take care of themselves, their bodies, and their appearance.

Agree completely with the above postings. I have tons of nice clotehs, especially dress shirts, slacks, nice jeans, etc., and I have friends who dress like complete bums. Yeah, some get azz, some don't. But when I deal with people, whether they be HB's, people I work for, or professors, I am taken more seroiusly when my appearance is better. People notice this stuff, especially chicks. That is the larger benefit. Being well dressed doesn't mean being gay or anything, I know guys that hit the gym, love football and basketball, and have fashion down so good they put many girls to shame. And guess what? Most of these guys pull plenty of chicks. So don't let some loser get you down, if you do well in nice clothes, which is most people, keep wearing them.
