The major problems I have found is accountability, information overload, overanalysis and fear in my quest to become a dj. What I have found that helped me in other areas, is to have a mentor who would set me tasks, demand reports and bust me if he found out that I was slipping, and motivate me and encourage me along the way.

I have read numerous posts and the bible many times, but the application and development of the habits I need is my downfall.

Would an experienced DJ be willing to mentor me over the next 6 weeks?

I am at college for the next 4 weeks and then working in the City of London, so there are ample opportunities avaliable.

I am a willing student, and will do whatever you ask me to.

I was thinking about this the other day, and I'm not so sure that it is the best way to go. When somebody else gives you assignments, you are more likely to do it, but for all the wrong reasons. You are doing it because you want to please the mentor. It would be just easy to make up your own assignments, but you will be more likely to chicken out, although I think that when you do finally find it in yourself to just do it, you will have had a much more important experience and you will be less likely to ever pvssy out again. This way, you will be doing it to better yourself, not to earn respect from your mentor.

Then again, you may not be able to think of assignments to make for yourself. In this case, you probably haven't read the bible, which you should do before trying this type of thing anyways. If you want missions, take them from the DJ bootcamp. You shouldn't need somebody to stay on your ass and convince you that you can do it. "The only person you need to convince is yourself." (THANKS CABLELIGHT!)
