I'm sure a lot of the masters from 2000/2001 would like this forum as I saw it suggested by The Great Moderator Paradox in the Anything Else forum. :p

As long as it's not named "Old Fogies" forum, it should be done.

Great idea...

Except that it really encourages those that don't have 500 posts naturally to do it artificially (bump,bump,bump...)

If it is to be done, it should be a read only forum, so that newer members can benefit from the discussions the "Masters" have.

As usual, I'm against it. :)

Um, I don't think he means for it to only be for people that have 500+ posts. I think he just means for the "older" Don's that have been here since the 2000/2001 year. Of course, you would still be against it because you couldn't put any tips in it :D.

Hmm...big holes in the arguement...I can name one of the big holes from your reply: I didn't mean for it to sound like an arguement. Since that part has been typed, you said "If that's what you think of me." How do you think I think of you?

Anyway, I also think the Master Don Juan rank should be awarded to those with 1000 posts OR those that have earned the title through Don Juan Tips and other help. While the latter requires a certain amount of supervision from moderators, Aiken Drum doesn't do anything else except drugs. :) Aiken knows what I'm talking about lol.

If you set a limit of posts, people will just keep saying "bump" to increase thier count until they can get into the forum.

By the way, "bump." :D

Then Allen can script a filter that doesn't count "bump" threads. Or like as previous suggestion of mine, posts counted towards Master status will be limited to the Don Juan Tips forum.

Who would you masacre for being pro or con on the wrong day, in the war against Iraq?......

I guarantee the forum dies ..

LOL

Are you guys serious?

Is there really anything good that can come out of a Forum for "Masters only"?

If you want to have your ego stroked, why dont you guys start another "who is the best DJ?" poll.

Or better yet: Why dont you guys just ask for a new title put by your names saying "DJ Elite"?

The whole idea of this site is to welcome those who come to this site looking to SERIOUSLY improve themselves as a person. It is quite hypocritical of ANYONE who felt that they were "above" everyone else just because they were here longer or more experienced in the art of being a "Don".

The idea of having an exclusive club for a select amount of Don Juans is VERY similar to imature high school kids who are aloof and feel that because they are popular they can cut themselves off from everyone else.

I ask whoever supports this idea of having a closed forum: "Is it neccesary to be a member of something that openly flouts the ideals of this whole forum?"

Think about it.

It's a badly-kept secret.
If you were serious about an "elite" forum, various board meet-ups would have to take place. Well, they wouldn't HAVE TO take place, but it'd be sensible.

I don't see why anything you want to discuss as "masters" cannot be done so through the current format.

As a new guy around here, I think it's a bad idea. The strength of this discussion board lies in its assemblage of DJs, learners, and AFCs. The new learn from the experienced and then pass on the knowledge.

What the **** use is a board occupied by a bunch AFCs giving each other advice? Tips on carrying girls' purses? I realise I'm exaggerating somewhat, but the point is that many benefit from the advice of the "masters". Highly advanced discussions can still take place, for the most part amongst yourselves, given the calibre of such discussions.

Within the current format at least the wealth is shared.

A masters forum would exist in these forums for DJism scholars and beyond. I suppose in that forum we would discuss current issues in relationships, etc. and further discuss how to circumvent new obstacles and exploit new holes in the human psyche. With that concentrated knowledge, we would then be more able and apt to present our findings to the lesser and aspiring DJs.

While the seduction forum serves a similar purpose, it's a radical technique which, in my opinion, is far too complex than what is actually needed to seduce others.

At this point you probably have a woman (or multiple women) chasing you around, calling you all the time, wanting to be with you. So let's talk about how to KEEP a woman interested in you once you have her. This is BIG! There is nothing worse than getting dumped by a woman that you really, really like.

The problem with this whole "master's forum" idea is that anyone who posts here who is (in my opinion) caliber for such a forum is already in Club PDX, Mystery's Lounge or both so whatever "master's forum" that gets created is going to have to be interesting enough to compete with those two places for the attention of the most worthy participants. That's a lot to ask.

Dumb idea, no need to make this into a caste system, no need to make some people better than others.

if anything, we should get rid of post couts so noone has to feel opressed by people with more posts.

Tell her a little about yourself, but not too much. Maintain some mystery. Give her something to think about and wonder about when she's at home.
