I had a quasi-friend (more like a friend of a friend) from college, Rory, who also moved out west like I did. Good looking guy, tall, black belt in some martial arts discipline, good fun guy to hang out with when we would go out as a group in college.
A few years after graduation, he starts banging a married chick for a while. After some time the husband sniffs it out. And BTW,
@mrgoodstuff far more than 2% find out, IMO, but whatever. So the husband follows his wife to a bar where she's hanging all over Rory, they're kissing, playing touchy-feely, etc. The husband walks in the bar and confronts them, and pulls out a .357 (cop gun). Rory runs out of the bar, the guy chases him. Rory runs around a parked car to protect himself but the guy got off a single shot as they were running around the the car and the shot struck Rory in the back.
He's now paralyzed and in a wheelchair. All that went down in mid-late 90's I believe.
Don't think people "won't find out" (they usually do) or "do anything." Stupid move, but some need to learn tough lessons.
Ciao.
