I'm from Miami. In the past 12 years only 1 hurricane, or what can be called a hurricane hit us. Wilma or something a few weeks before katrina. It hit, and it went off. Other than that it was all good.
You will find that most of the drama is found on TV. People are glued to TVs all day long for a week before hurricane actually hits. Then it comes, it's all over in 12 hours, and nothing really bad happened.
I find that lately government has a tendency to overact to storms. Evacuate! Buy supplies! Fear the storm! All this fear to remind you that you need them more than ever.
Oh my friend, they have the capacity to give you money to restore your house and everything, but they only give you enough for a pair of shoes, lol. Oh yes they do. Our government knows magic, they have a trick they are so good at, they can pull insane amounts of money out of their asses. I'll give you examples: no wait, naming a few wars in the last 20 years would be political.
But forget that, we are talking about weather! So how come they only give you enough for a pair of shoes, lol? It's easy! It's simple! It's evil! Hurricane created a problem, homeless people, people that lost their belongings. No need to fix that problem, oh no. That's what hurricanes do. That's what people fear. We can use that fear next time to remind people how much they need us.
Katrina? You telling me they didn't have capacity to bring aid, uhmmm, let's say within 24 hours? You telling me they didn't have capacity to restore that city 10 times over within a year?
Ever watched V for Vendetta? Good movie.
