i have a lot of accquintances, people I know, talk to, from work, school, clubs, gym, etc

but i only have 1 or 2 close friends with whom i hang out during my free time, but after i started doing more productive things like ballroom dancing and working out i rarely hang out with them anymore.

the new people i met don't go beyond the necessary stuff (i workout with some ppl, work with others, go to school with still different people) we are nice to each other, but can't really call each other friends as we don't go beyond that.

so now i don't really have any friends...i know a lot of people from a lot of areas in life, but i can't really call them my friends.

You gotta make the first move with them. Invite 'em to a bar to pick up girls with you, or to hang out and drink. Anything. Be funny and just have a good time, and if he thinks you are cool then you guys can chill again.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

This post reminds me of a "Seinfeld" episode where Jerry was friends with Keith Hernandez!!

I have the same issue. I know lots of people, but I don't hang out with them. I've noticed this with alot of other people though too.

Everyone seems to have a core group of 2-3 people that sometimes connect with other groups of 2-3 people thus forming 4-6 people groups.
