Lunch or should i say mid day meals....I can never think of what to eat.....i have my breakfast dinner figured out pretty good....and shakes in between.....Lunch always bugs me....this is what i usually eat but im really getting sick of it

Turkey sandwich on whole wheat
yogurt
almonds

Day after day i eat that.... i need new lunch ideas that are easy to prepare and are high protein, and good taste :). Dont tell me beef/veggies effort ;)

What about switching the turkey to chicken/ham/beef.

Another thing you could do is use mayonnaise instead of butter (if you aren't already). Probably a better idea to use low fat mayonnaise (blasphemy!) since it is earlier in the day, if you were to do this.

Alternatively go to Gregg's and get get a Thai chicken sandwich, although Gregg's is UK only I think. (Don't know where you live, most likely US).

If that is the case go to subway or quiznoes or something. Yum.

Have a half sub instead of a full one.

I always make lunch the night before then pack it in plastic in the fridge, then just pop it into my esky in the morning.

Idea 1:
Massive chicken salad with cheese, avocado, heaps of olive oil, rocket, garlic, onion, capsicum, cucumber and vinegar.

Idea 2:
Fry mince (beef, lamb or pork) with garlic, onion and sweet potato (chopped into small cubes), add Worcestershire sauce while frying. Package for refrigeration and serve with veggies/salad. Top with olive oil.

Idea 3:
Boil (at very low heat) casserole beef for 4 hours, place in container and serve with diced tomato, zucchini and cheese.

Idea 4:
Make a big roast beef and portion up into containers to serve with veggies.

This is where it's at.
How and why is it in our culture food has become such an escapist treat?
I don't get bored with food and I pretty much eat the same thing every day. I throw in some some items to mix it up...almonds vs pistachios, turkey vs chicken or even beef, avocados vs cole slaw. Hell, rasberries vs blackberries lol.
Not until you are at peace with food serving as nourishment rather than entertainment will you ever abide by a strict dietary routine.

Don't get me wrong, I love to try new foods and dishes and don't mind a little experimentation, but I don't live for it.

I'm venting cause I know so many people (women, more often than not) seem way too fixated on food as an event rather than an object. That is the quick route to unhealthy eating imo.

personally, I think you have this backwards. the people who are the epitome of making food an event rather than an object are the French, and they seem to know more about healthy eating than the rest of us (except that they seem to be discovering McD's in droves now.....)

well then you have all the hardware you need to get creative, if you can find an hour or two per week, or even better, an hour a day.
